Then it's certainly WFTO bug. This game gets very unstable especially on maps that feature complex scripts. You should ticket this one.

The best solution I can recommend is to have a sanctuary with avarice unlocked so you can gather gold back even if you load with 0 coins.

Another alternative is to move your gold from vault and drop it on the ground somewhere, maybe it's vault that gets bugged, in this case you can pick up the gold from ground upon load and deposit it back to vault.

I'd suggest experimenting here, maybe there is a way to save gold from loss.

This is probably a WFTO bug. When exactly do you do your load? At start or in the middle of the game? Also which modes do you choose?

Try doing separate save files every 30 minutes. It should help avoiding situation when save file does not load anymore.

Updated to version 2.1

Added additional measures to prevent Units or Bosses from leaving.
Fixed odd bug that was causing Core Shards to be prematurely destroyed when player selected to play Solo or vs AI with less than 3 of them. Now Core Shards are protected by Shield, which is tied to level 10 Sapper, who is waiting inside the Core Shard area. Killing him will result into shield removal.

I rechecked scripts and shield removal system works as intended. However, if Boss was to leave the dungeon map, let's say through portal, the system would not detect that as death properly and as the result, shield would remain. I added a small fix for now. If it doesn't work, I'll consider doing a more of hard-type of fixing. Hope there won't be the need for that.

I did save and load the map the next day as I did not have time to finish it in one go.
Another possibility is that the AI had sleep/food needs and got upset?
Either that or the several well of souls messed the system up.

Could that be the specific boss? Could you tell me which one it was and I'll recheck the scripts.

It should not glitch since there is manual shield removal system which I tested and it worked. You need to destroy all inhibitors and Core Shards, only then the shield will be removed from the boss and it will become vulnerable. With boss gone, Middle Core should no longer be protected.

I played the map twice, first time around (very hard difficulty 4 players) save got corrupted so I started over again.
Second time around (hard difficulty 4 players) I destroyed all enemies and destroyed everything but the center dungeon core. The boss was not there so I could not remove the shielding of the dungeon core.
Even though the annoying bugs happened I enjoyed this map (took me about 6 hours because I took it slow).

I am not sure if it has anything to do with it, but near the center of the map next to the water I placed some well of souls to hurt some people in the center base, maybe one of them killed the boss and it bugged out? I have no idea to be honest.

I expected this to be a small Christmas map, but then many things happened. I've learnt a lot and realized why working with MS can be so unbearable at times. Lots of do's and undo's, MS instability, AI limitations and other troubles forced me to search for alternatives which took days to fix. One thing for sure - my enthusiasm now is officially at 0 point mark. Gotta take a while before I try to create something else.

About the map - lots of options in there. Randomization of enemies, hidden things, special goodies and so on. Too much to list. Map can be played as Solo Scenario as well - in other words, you will be playing alone, without any opponents. Feel free to explore.

Due to certain limitations of game, certain things are the way they are. I do hope everything is working this time, because game has back-stabbed me far too often this time.
