I won't be able to play again any time soon but I'll try to investigate this at some point.
@Oh God Spiders No Also found out the lowest setting takes something like 12 days to respawn, not a season :D
It will work, but it's not enough to just enable it in the mod menu
That comes in handy when setting up the sandbox.
Can you tell how long does it take for foraging zones to respawn with the mod?
I can't find any vanilla code that empties/refills a given patch of water. I could conceivably write something but it would be from scratch. I don't really feel like I have it in me to do that at the moment. I'll keep it in mind though!
I'll take a peek at the calculation. Zomboid does time in "ticks" and I haven't been able to find any documentation that explicitly tells you how many ticks are in a day, so I might be way off. Either that or I just miswrote something altogether.
I will try to get to this soon, but I have some work deadlines.
