Is this going to be updated at some point? I really wish these would actually just be incorporated into the game. I'd probably go back to playing it more if I could at least try this.

@Cioatã in the game rules you can turn off the game ending in 1453, thus allowing you to play as long as you want. Sorry if I read your comment wrong as english is not my native language.

I tried this mod with another which adds more starting years and some counties just dissapeard, could you do another starting year? like 500 or 600 because I would really like a very long gameplay

Hello everybody, im sorry for the abscence and not saying this before: as it is right now i have no interest to continue this mod. This is a great game with a lot of future potential, but right now i feel like there isnt much to continue doing or reasons to play, a lot of you know how paradox is and how their games take time to get all its content, so i feel like im gonna wait to play this game until there is more to it. Having said that, please anyone that wants to update and even continue this mod, FEEL FREE TO DO SO, you can post it again on your account, i dont mind at all and hope that people can continue to play it, you can even go ahead and edit things add your own ideas.

i have a suggestion you could try and rebuild hadrians wall up in England they seem like something that would fit maybe give them some defense boni and as small global one to defensive buildings

this mod conflicts with the Lord of the Kings mod. you cant recruit the roman MAA innovation troops.

I think you should add the casus belli of imperial reconquest as an option for declaring war with other kingdoms that occupy the old provinces since having to either claim a duchy or county or starting one of the holy war options or having to select invade empire is kind of tedious and doesn't make any sense since the reconquest of the lost territory would be a better casus belli option. Anyways this is one of favorite mods so far thanks for your hard work making this

@typhoon heavy infantry by default beat spears in this game, not to mention that the majority of spearmen in the game are pikemen. Legionaries excel at close combat, are much more flexible on every type of terrain than spear rigid formations, and can get inside the gaps of their formations and at that point a spearman couldnt do anything since each legionarie fought individually and excel at that, while a spearman from a phalanx depended on the entire cohesion of the unit for it to work and didnt do well 1v1, specially on uneven ground

@Ahruman I want so much puzzled that they called the crusades as that they targeted Jerusalem when I control Rome, which is also their holy site and the normal seat of their faith. Seems like Paradox might want to refine their targeting a bit more, given that attacking Jerusalem basically requires them to march across my empire, with me able to hit them at my leisure.

@hoffmads36 I can say, having hunted down some info on why crusades are called, they actually compare the *total strength of the religion calling the GHW* to the strength of the suzerein of the de-jure kingdom they are calling the GHW for. So if you personally are weaker than all of christiandom, they will continue to call Crusades on you, especially since there are only 2 requirements to call one: 75%+ fervor and more than 5 years after the previous GHW

@Caesar That submod sounds like a great idea, as currently the only truly challenging wars are civil wars against my culturally Roman vassals, who have similar armies to me - legionary troops supplemented with mercenary light cavalry and horse archers. I just got done devastating a crusade which the Pope, for some reason, called against Jerusalem, despite me holding Rome, all Italy, and southern Gaul. All the same, it's still a lot of fun.

@hoffmads36 thanks alot, im glad you like it. Im working on that second version of a duchy start and ill try to balance things out for both mods because the maa are just so strong and the AI never can put up a fight. Im thinking about doing a "hard difficult" submod for the base game to reduce AI costs for buildings and maa so they actually build things and make stronger armies.

@Caesar yes, you're right, everything but the buildings was in the game when I loaded, which is good enough for me to continue. The increase in the size of legionary MaA to full cohort size is great, as it's allowed my prefects to build powerful armies, which will make civil wars more challenging and interesting. Thank you for the excellent work!

Im thinking about doing a second version of this mod where you start with the Latium duchy only (Rome territory), and have to work your way up, providing more challenge. Let me know what you guys think of the changes and this new idea for a second version of this mod :Dominated:

@Barren you're clicking on Play Any Ruler, right? The first time I loaded the mod I was confused that it didn't pop up like the other big historical leaders but you have to go to the Duchy of Thrace and select Duca Romulus.

What I meant is a special unit similar to the ones certain starts give, like Williams host, or the Byzantian Imperial army, ie. a special unit made of Praetorian units to raise, for the Emperor only/and or direct descendants part of the Imperial family.

I know theres already a Praetorian MAA unit but its only 150, which to me seems kinda small for someone directly related to the Emperor to have as a guard force in battle. Maybe add Praetorian units, like Praetorian cavalry, heavy archers etc that are house specific so only members from the Emperors family can have access to them? The wiki said Praetorian cohorts smallest size was 500 men per cohort but could rose to more unreasonable numbers for the game (7-15k)
