Understandable & probably not a big deal. It's just the one character so far & I don't mind switching patches whenever I wanna do that specific fight.

The update definitely caused it. Switching to the previous patch fixed it so I was able to do the fight I wanted.

I'm consistently getting a crash in a weirdly specific situation I never used to get a crash in. If I try to fight Thara with the bossy buddy equipped while playing as any workshop character, the game loads everything but then just crashes when the match is supposed to start. I've never had this problem before despite fighting her this way dozens of times before. I posted the crash message below.

idea: instead of the weird boss toggle, maybe set whoever has it equipped to boss mode? for example having two bosses fight

Another thing I just found: it is possible to initiate screen scripted boss fights while using this buddy for yourself, but don't expect the game to be able to handle it when the fight is over. It seems to create two player 2's as opposed to just one and when the game can't determine who is who it crashes.

I say that this is a pretty fun buddy to use. One thing I learned is that I could make myself a boss simply by swapping my role in the character selection to player 2, since the buddy is programmed specifically to make them the boss.

What I would personally prioritize changing is the speed. Even the walking is a little too fast if you want to stop more precisely. I found myself missing more attacks than not when I wanna take to the air.

Also, for players all around, I wouldn't recommend using the buddy for characters that have limited controls, like the old Mario Pissing, who can only use his special attack, or Wave and Shine, who are Fox and Falco respectively with extremely limited functionality that comes exclusively from directional input. I’m not expecting this to be remedied in any way, shape, or form, I just want to give a heads up to anyone who thinks that would be a good idea.

I have found that if I play on a stage with the same or a similar layout to final destination (A Giant Floating Platform) while this buddy is equipped, The boss will get stuck underneath the stage after falling off the stage and touching the lower blast zone with no way recover. One good way you could fix this is by making the boss character teleport to it's spawn point when it touches the blast zone, but I'm not the one making the buddy so if you can fix this issue that would be nice. Thank You!
