Offcourse the mod only functions with pregnancies after you applied the mod everything before that with ongoing pregnancies are already set

The results of my testing does align with what remianen originally posted, it does not work with existing pregnancies but ii does apply to new ones (if you add the mod before the pregnancy happens).

Will test the comment below made by remianen, as I am looking to prevent a death during childbirth. I would love for the game to be much clearer as to when certain events are "set in stone", so we dont have to go through periodic testing everytime the game gets an update.

The mod doesn't seem to work with existing pregnancies (in vanilla with all DLC. Haven't tried it with EK2 yet). So if you add it to an existing save, women who are pregnant at that time can still die. New pregnancies are affected though. I think the 'death by childbirth' check is done either when the woman is first impregnated or when the player is notified of the pregnancy. The mod doesn't seem to affect miscarriages and stillbirths at all (not that it should).

Thanks for this. Some death from childbirth is of course natural, but having just game-overed b/c all 7 of my character's daughters (yes 7!) died before age 25... No sons and no surviving babies. Yea, that's just an un-fun game unless your kink is suffering or something. Anyhow... hope your mod saves me some time moving forward. Really wish the min-max players would STFU about the game being too easy. PDX forces these arbitrary RNG-fueled hellscape play-throughs to pacify them, but not everyone is playing that way. Until I have a game rule to turn this rubbish off (and the more ridiculous events where I'm given no choices other than to kill my character), this game is unplayable w/out mods.

Yea looking into the events folder in Ek2 it does add in some files of its own. I know it might be asking a lot, but would it be possible for you to make a version of this to be compatible with EK2 whenever you got the time? As of now I got this below EK2 in my load order but nothing changes. :(

Maybe Ek2 changes some of the same files

Maybe its a mod conflict or something but I cant get this to work with EK2. I got so many moms dying left and right from childbirth in my current EK2 playthrough its insane.

@jedi_master_edward_ala No idea what is going on in your game then never had that happen and it shouldnt happen, also never heard from anyone that it happened as again it shouldnt.

@FunGaming44 They still have a chance to die (even with this mod activated) when they become pregnant. I know. It's happened to me. Order of what happened: Daughter-Wife became pregnant and would die (despite being strong, amazonian, and having 10+ health) in childbirth. Subscribed to this mod and activated it. Reloaded to before character became pregnant (have other mods that allow you to make characters pregnant), and they still died in childbirth. It is not a mod conflict (none of them touch that part of childbirth). Different daughter-wife died in childbirth.

@jedi_master_edward_ala if someone is already pregnant then no it doesnt work if they are already marked.

Piece of crap mod. Does not work. Maybe it was because I installed it after starting a game, it doesn't work unless you start a new game?

I really hate how they just... made it fate on impregnation. Instead of just a complication during the birth itself that can be reloaded. Ironman exists for a reason, don't see why they had to fuck over people that choose not to play Ironman. So thanks.

And anyone trying to save someone that's past the point of no return you got to basically delete all references to the pregnancy in the save file in notepad++ that's the only way to fix it.

@Bose-Dose mod works fine without issues, make sure you dont have other mods that modify the same files which is most likely causing your problems

this doesnt seem to work and worse yet is causing almost every second childbirthing interaction to be one in which my wife dies

@Surreal make sure you dont use another mod that modifies the same files or this mod will not work.

@sang ho Shin must be another mod since this changes notning to the alert message when there is a birth, this mod only prevents mothers from dying during childbirth nothing more.

If you use this mode, you won't get a birth alarm. pls update

there should be a mod that prevents miscarriages as well
I try to have as much children as possible and get annoyed when a miscarriage happens
