Liquid Aire!*

Building a factory for advanced technologies on an airless and deadly CyberSphere, but could never find a breathable* alternative to EPP, something I don't wish to wear at all times. Thankfully, Liquid Aire™️ has my back AND lungs!

*Aire usage is technically not breathing

Wei Tech Distributed Industries Incorporated's Liquid Aire™️ Products are crafted using only the most powerful substance known to Corporate Science: Money! At a completely fair* and legal* rate of 1 Pixel per Viable Unit of Liquid Aire™️, this product is readily available for anyone to make no matter their location or planet or origin! Whether you're on a green Garden planet or building a secret Volcano Base on a barely livable Volcanic planet, Wei Tech products are here for you!

*Terms "fair" and "legal" are defined by the Wei Tech's Legal division and may not be equivalent or identical to similar sounding terms in other languages, cultures, or religions.

But like. What are the construction costs?

Sooo...still recovering from...stuff. Lotsa stuff, honestly, but who isn't these days, ya know? Anywho, looking back at this, it occurred to me that Wei Tech is not one to settle for 1 single planet type when there's usually more than 1 type orbiting a star. So yeah, while I can't yet do any coding, I'mma gonna start pondering how I want this to work out. Might even need to figure out how to make a new moon type....

ocean but that other one seems nice

I'd have to learn how to make planets first. Doable, but I've got a lot on plate irl atm. I'll add it to the list of things I'll do once I'm not buried. Also, do you want this planet to be 100% liquid aire or more like a vanilla ocean planet (surface of liquid aire, but largely solid normal rocks in the middle), or maybe like a floating/sky island planet except all the air has been replaced with liquid aire?
Aethis 28 Sep, 2021 @ 3:06pm
do it pls

Took me a bit to remember. The spawnliquid ID is wei_aireliquid. The item ID is wei_liquidaire. Been taking a break from SB to focus on irl stuff, but I've been pondering making a wired Liquid Aire:tm: Dispenser, cos automation. Might post that when irl stuff permits me to return. Might be next Saturday.

What ID would i use for the /spawnliquid command? I want to make a room filled with liquid aire with an airlock connecting it to the rest of my ship but don't want to have to refill the room every time the door gets left open for too long.

Ohhh. Gotcha.

I suppose I could answer with more Wei Tech spiel like "Why tether yourself to expensive EPP technology that requires expensive upgrades just to have a light when you can enjoy the comfort and convenience of Liquid Aire instead?" but instead I'll answer you seriously. Honestly, I'm still researching good ways to use this mod so I don't have a huge list of reasons why yet. So far, one good reason might be that it's useful for people who don't have light upgrades for their EPPs yet. Maybe? It's been a while since I've actually played. And I suppose there's uses for roleplayers who want to use liquid-filled bases or liquid-filled vertical halls. My main reason, originally, for making this mod was that there just wasn't a breathable liquid out of the almost 255 liquids registered on the wiki. Experimenting with this mod has been a fun excuse to get back into actually playing the game. Anyway, tl;dr I'm still figuring out why.
Cyan Spartan17 29 Sep, 2020 @ 10:43am
Not dissing the mod or anything, just, why?
Cyan Spartan17 29 Sep, 2020 @ 10:42am
What's the point of making the liquid breathable? You could just put an EPP on...

Wei Tech's Liquid Aire™* is liquid and breathable regardless of condition, location, or species! And a Wei Tech scientist has assured the Safety Board that the emulsifiers and liquifiers used in the final product are safe by wearing a fish bowl full of Liquid Aire™* on/around his head since the moment the final test batch was finished.

*Liquid Aire™ is an air substitute and not real air. Do not attempt to use it with HVAC systems that require gas or vapor circulation.
bloopah 23 Sep, 2020 @ 12:56pm
isn't the boiling point for air -194.35*C
Bagheera Magaro  [author] 23 Sep, 2020 @ 11:42am
Wei Tech would like to assure you that no trees, cities, or ecosystems were harmed in the making of this product. Furthermore, Wei Tech uses half of its 0.02% cut of each pixel used to create units of Liquid Aire™ to help fund the terraforming of barren planets into livable* planets for all to enjoy!

*Definition varies depending on species.
