Fun mission ! Thank you
To all: Thanks guys, I made this scenario almost 4 years ago. Ocasionally someone comments, but always with kind words. And it never fails to make my day ;)
Cheers,
V.
I dressed up the hill camp a little more. Added patrols, an attack boat among others, cleaned up some waypoints. Added a few little ambiance improvements and fixed the extraction helo from going airborne before the player gets in.
Enjoy everyone :)
Yeah, there was one patrol in the gully in front of - Guess I was lucky, since the ai-guys never turned around. was about 100m behind them.
Great mission. took me about an hour. :-)
To avoid patrols I took a long swim to the church with the contact person, keeping my distance to the beachline. Getting to the contact and getting out there was easy, no need for a kill.
Took the NW gully uphill (very good cover) from church(contact person) to get close to target area without getting caught by the patrols in the area.
At target area I took out the one poor guy on patrol duty and went into the building - taking out another two guards and the HVT (pulled this one off quickly, they never knew what was hitting them.
To get to the extraction point, I took another gully NW of the compound, which also provided excellent cover from the approaching enemy heil. Circling Mt. Kira clockwise, I approached the extracion point from W without any trouble.
Suggestions:
- Enemy patrol boat near contact
Like mentioned before, it might be a good idea to just rename the contact until there's actual priest robes you can use. Another improvment could be a some fortification/camouflage near the artillery piece. It looked a bit bare up there on the hill.
I also liked the music you included.
Could you remove the Dependency and OtherMap tag from the description? Afaik the scenario doesn't require any mods, nor is it on another island.
@icjinu. I decided on the light clothes to make the character faster for what is essentially a one hour "hit and run or die trying" excursion. Heavy loads are going to be less useful than moving quickly and stealthily in such a situation. Ghillie suits in real life are also quite heavy (and tend to overheat the wearer) and they only really work if you're lying in ambush or just not moving. But thanks for trying the mission! sorry that it wasn't more to your liking ;)
