Paving Textures and Tile Assets

like a concrete texture similar to the 5 shades of grey that already exist would be nice in an array of different colours. :)

I hadn't thought of anything else, as until now no-one had asked for anything. Any other paved surfaces would probably be in a separate mod as this is already 256Mb. You've mentioned a couple of colours, but how would you want these to work? Plain matt or gloss single-colour, one-piece tiles; paving tiles making up a patio or paved floor (square or diamond pattern); colours alternating with similar or contrasting colours?
BalancedJewel46 14 Apr, 2021 @ 6:09am
would you ever plan on realising more of the tile assets in different colours? Such as a dark green or a yellow?

I don’t think any track covers will work with curves and trams have only very slight gradients. I would suggest using some Chinese tracks, which have concrete bases, such as the Shanghai Metro set.
aurelien.faugere 23 Mar, 2021 @ 5:43am
it does not work with slopes and curves
Quince99  [author] 22 Mar, 2021 @ 8:23am
There are track covers by AV, Angier and APasz on the workshop already - and that's just the ones beginning with 'A'.
aurelien.faugere 22 Mar, 2021 @ 7:56am
can we make with this mod cover for tracks to create tram tracks ?

I know I said the previous update was the last - well, I lied. :-)

Looking at the tennis courts at the park in my screenshots for the flowering trees mod, I thought it needed a completely flat, mown grass texture for use on sports pitches, manicured lawns and stately homes.

I would have done a striped lawn texture but this would not look good unless everything was built on a parallel alignment with the lawn and this may not exactly be convenient for many people!

Maan, those tiles are amazing, they've changed the look of my old town center completely!

Thank you. I meant the statue of the Horse (Cavalier statue).

A horse asset for use at a farm? There are TPF1 mods on Steam of animals:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1078918686

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1473707305

And a complete riding school with stables and horses:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1454033172

These will convert to TPF2 fine as I have them in use on my own games.

One last thing - Where do I actually get an original TPF1 mod of a horse? I've searched all over transportfever.net but it's nowhere to find ;)
mikesburn 5 Oct, 2020 @ 3:08pm
Quince99, thank you so much. I'll read through the details!
Quince99  [author] 5 Oct, 2020 @ 1:01pm
The TPF1 statue mod is a simple item that can be converted using the mod on transportfever.net :

https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php?entry/4809-tpf1-tpf2-konverter/

It's straightforward to use and there are instructions (somewhere) on YouTube. If you can't find a video to show it use, come back to me here and I'll write detailed instructions.

Quince99,
Thank you for sharing the horse statue link (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1564010704)
I see it's for TPF1, can I still download it and use it with TPF2 or should I convert it with a converter mod? I've tried searching for that converter mod but was out of luck. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Nice work on tiles by the way. Amazing.

UPDATE v1.3: This will be the final update for this mod as I feel that it is large enough at 250Mb. Any subsequent paving tiles will become part of a separate mod.

If there are any specific requests, please post them and I will look to add them to a new mod in due course.
Quince99  [author] 27 Sep, 2020 @ 6:34am
UPDATE: For the time being the 5 asphalt in-game textures are now available as placeable tiles. When I have more time there will be some more cobblestone, brick and tiled assets that are more weathered and less ornate than the first set.
Sefoid 26 Sep, 2020 @ 1:47pm
Thanks, yeah, that's be ideal!
Quince99  [author] 26 Sep, 2020 @ 12:12pm
@Sefoid - If you would like more of the game's in-built textures as tiles, that's quite straightforward to do.
Sefoid 26 Sep, 2020 @ 12:04pm
Yeah it was more because sometimes the brushes don't work for me since surfaces have to be exactly flat and even then it often draws asphalt-textured pathways over the top.

Thanks again for these tiles and for responding
Quince99  [author] 26 Sep, 2020 @ 9:58am
There are these cobblestone texture brushes:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2233592994

I will however look into adding some more ordinary-looking stone textures in tile form.
Sefoid 26 Sep, 2020 @ 9:04am
This is exactly what I need in so many of my saves, thanks!

Any chance you could make tile asset versions of some more ground textures, like cobbles, grass or asphalt, for some less fancy-looking town squares?
Quince99  [author] 25 Sep, 2020 @ 8:31am
UPDATE: Thanks to fellow modder JK this mod now has placeable asset tiles in two scales of pattern for each texture. There are 5m, 10m, and 20m square tiles in Assets/Terrain/Paving textures.

The tiles are textured on all sides so will usually need edging with a road/path, hedge, fence or similar item.
4mB3r197 24 Sep, 2020 @ 3:07am
I love it! Thanks!
GrayFox 23 Sep, 2020 @ 9:37am
thx
modelcitizen 23 Sep, 2020 @ 6:22am
What a clever idea! Thanks Quince99!
Quince99  [author] 23 Sep, 2020 @ 2:02am
I'll see if I can adapt this to assets, just bear in mind my 3D modelling skills are non-existent, which is why I stick to textures (like I did in Fallout 4)!

Some of the patterns are fine in big outdoor areas but I will look to scale down at least once more in terms of texture density.
MKH1020 22 Sep, 2020 @ 3:35pm
hmm, interesting, could you make assets too? maybe also versions with the patterns being smaller.
soldier312 22 Sep, 2020 @ 3:29pm
Thank you SO MUCH! Would hiiighly appreciate to have more of these!
davidmoore668 22 Sep, 2020 @ 3:12pm
Dear Quince99 Here is idea for U ; You should make in a mod as well and you get more thumbs up as well. :-) :104:

For those looking for the horse and rider statue from TpF1:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1564010704
Quince99  [author] 22 Sep, 2020 @ 2:53pm
These are ground textures. It's best to apply them on terrain that has been levelled with the square brush. As the textures are at a fixed angle, with the bigger patterns you will need to plan your landscaped area around that grid pattern. The smaller ones may in-fill without looking off.
MKH1020 22 Sep, 2020 @ 2:12pm
Are these supplied as ground paint or as assets?
Quince99  [author] 22 Sep, 2020 @ 2:08pm
The mounted rider statue is from transportfever.net and is a TpF1 mod that I've converted. The conversion mod is also on that site and is straightforward to use. Some modders have converted their own work from TpF1 to TpF2 but this is one I've done for my own use. I don't think the original creator has uploaded a TpF2 version to the site yet.
mikesburn 22 Sep, 2020 @ 2:04pm
Wow, it's amazing!
I see that you're using a monument with a horse. Could you please shed some light on where I can get that mode as well?
