It may be frustrating, but why would a child be living with their grandparent when their parent is alive and landed? For various other reasons it's better to not land your heir anyway.

Should not overwrite, but mod no longer supported as the same feature is available through the debug console

Does this Mod overwrite anything, or does it just add a new Interaction for this specific purpose?

Would be cool to get an update

There's no localisation for the description for the decision.

Theres a Mod for that against wandering Family Members:

What it looks like is if the AI sends the kid randomly out into the world to wander, the mod doesn't allow you to demand them to come back. I had it with another kid that randomly got ejected into the world. Other kids I had no issue bringing them in.

The option to add court was not there. My son today had the same error where he randomly went wondering and couldnt add him to court. I could add other members to my court.

@Ciroth, was the option to add her to your xourt still available? Did you try clicking it again?
Ciroth 4 Oct, 2020 @ 5:50am
I had my child randomly appear at someone elses court. I could not force her to my court. It was strange, all I couldn't do was educate her but not sure what was wrong.

What I'd like to see as a game mechanic, though it's probably beyond the scope of this mod, is that you don't have invite members of your house to join your court in order to control their education and marriage. If you're the head of the house no one in your family should be able to marry without your permission. It was considered basically treason if you were a relative of the monarch (at least in England) and married without their consent.

For some reason this mod wasn’t working when I commented earlier but now it is. I got rid of a cpl and I’m not sure which one was in conflict, but thank you for your excellent work!

Isn't that because the duke is the kid's guardian? Try ending the guardianship. Not sure if you can do that for a kid that is not yours though
Finarfin 29 Sep, 2020 @ 2:06pm
If a child's parents have given their child as a ward to someone I don't think you should be able to make that child automatically come if you invite their parents to court. However, if the minor child has not been assigned a guardianship then they should always follow their parents. By the way, speaking of minors off-topic, did they do away with the idea of regents in this game?
EyeBags.On.Fleek 29 Sep, 2020 @ 1:40pm
no i mean how, unless im missing a clearly labeled button or menu, you cant invite individuals who are younger than 16 to your court. You can have both parents, and their 5 star genius four your old is on the other side of the country chilling with some duke. In many cases, more than the parents its the offspring that I want to have at my court so I can arrange beneficial marriages for them to pass on good traits.
Julien  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 7:20am
Ah, so you mean disabling the diplomatic distance?
EyeBags.On.Fleek 29 Sep, 2020 @ 7:17am
What I meant was the ability to compel characters while their still minors. I hate that I can invite my son to court in order to arrange marriages for his offspring, only to find that his three toddlers are touring europe without their folks and are beyond my reach.
Finarfin 29 Sep, 2020 @ 7:17am
I meant heir's heir in my last post.
Finarfin 29 Sep, 2020 @ 7:17am
Wouldn't you get the same result, for example, by asking to be your grandson (and heir's) guardian?

Updated for 1.1.1
Julien  [author] 26 Sep, 2020 @ 1:23am
@Delicious, not sure what you mean. Do you mean bringing unrelated kids to court? Because this already applies to your own children and grandchildren.

@Finarfin, see this more as a quick fix. I'm not that skilled in coding to make it work so that you have to request permission from an adult for an underage, but that an adult child can decide for their own

@ObanMark, that it an entirely different setup than this mod. I'll try to take a look at it, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull it off. Would put it in an entirely new mod anyhow
ObanMark 25 Sep, 2020 @ 10:43pm
Can it be made possible to hit "Find Spouse" for people who are in your kingdom, but not in your court?
It's irritating not being able to arrange marriages between branches of my family located in different kingdoms, even if they're both my vassals in an empire.
Finarfin 25 Sep, 2020 @ 6:42pm
This whole concept seems a bit odd. You shouldn't be able to ask your infant grandchild to come to your court. You need to make the request/demand from their parents.
EyeBags.On.Fleek 25 Sep, 2020 @ 5:35pm
any chance you'd be able and or willing to take the time to make this apply to kids? I honestly can almost always get siblings and children to join my court without hooks or bribes. The thing that drives me nuts is when you do get the courtiers you want, their kids are inexplicably scattered throughout Europe beyond your grasp. Makes managing a family tree pretty frustrating at times when my perfect jewel of a granddaughter is married off to some inbred yokel because she was left in the clutches of the AI.

@xshayarsha, bring him to your court and then give him the land
shay 25 Sep, 2020 @ 4:43am
can you make it possible so you could grant a land to a family member who is at the court of another family member?
