At Alduin's Wall. Or just make one at the nearest smithy. You might need steel smithing, but that's about it.

Dual Sheath Redux [www.nexusmods.com] is a mod, weapon mods need a small Patch (meshes for the left side)
jagdtiger  [author] 23 Jun, 2019 @ 8:05am
What's a DSR patch?
Mock1ngb1rd 22 Jun, 2019 @ 6:21pm
Superb work, enjoy it now for years and will never miss it.

Is it possible to get an DSR patch? :lunar2019smilingpig:

Not really, no, or not without new animations. Which are impossible for any Beth game before Fallout 4. You can replace an animation -- which would screw up all other curved swords, from vanilla scimitars to my own sabres -- but not add a new one.

THAT said, wearing it side-down isn't entirely ahistorical, as often the only difference between a tachi and a katana was which side was worn up. Well, technically on which side the smith's signature was on the tang, since it was supposed to be worn towards the outside. But otherwise some tachi and katana could be absolutely identical. So if it helps, imagine it's a tachi.

'Course, it IS ahistorical for the Edo era, but oh well...

Trust me, if I could do anything about it I would have done it a long time ago :/

is it possible to turn the sheathed katana blade side up ? for historical accuracy
Gryffender 17 Dec, 2018 @ 12:09pm

Oloush Vydrowski 10 Nov, 2018 @ 4:03pm
Hey, so i´ve already killed that Boethiah´s champion before this mode, and i can´t get that id for Goldbrand in console, please help me
jagdtiger  [author] 2 Oct, 2018 @ 2:14am
I've kinda procrastinated making a tetsubo ever since Skyrim came out :p

For the bow, though, I'd have to learn to rig one first. Which is something else I've been procrastinating :p
My dude if you added a yumi and tetsubo that'd be really cool
jagdtiger  [author] 20 Sep, 2018 @ 2:58pm
So I was watching the new Bleach live-action movie on Netflix, and thought, now that's an oversized weapon that would fit right in with Beth's paddles. It looked so impractical that I just had to make it :p

This is NOT a historical weapon. However, as I was saying, it looked just about the right kind of oversized to fit in with most Bethesda weapons, so it's more of an artistic style decision than my usual historical considerations.

For those who are not fans of a katana that you could row row row your boat with, well, you won't ever see it in the game unless you craft it or give it to yourself with the console. So you can just ignore it.
Buttertoto 5 May, 2018 @ 6:50pm
if your still working on this could you add a kusarigama
Bersaglieri 2 May, 2018 @ 2:55am
just a though. Thanks for the reply. :)
jagdtiger  [author] 28 Apr, 2018 @ 10:11am
Well, I never made a bow before, but I'm not doing just Japanese weapons. I'm all for studying all cultures, and I have made stuff like shamshir, kukri, or chinese polearms for other games. Haven't ported those to Skyrim, because, well, they're not that good by my current standards. But I'm all for representing weapons of all cultures.

A hun or mongolian bow sounds definitely interesting, but I never learned to rig anything. You know, so it flexes when you draw it. So I'm probably not the best person to ask for a bow, sadly.
Bersaglieri 23 Apr, 2018 @ 10:14pm
Now we just need a unique Bow Of The Huns. Different cultures I know but I want a new unique bow for this game. I'm not a huge fan of crossbows.
jagdtiger  [author] 6 Apr, 2018 @ 9:20am
Seems easy enough. I guess it's only suitable for the versions without a boss, since otherwise the boss would be on top of the mountain. Hmm, probably works best with the dwarven border too.

Yep, seems simple enough.
Pokesus 6 Apr, 2018 @ 8:24am
And you're a great guy! n.n you make a lot of great things!
Pokesus 6 Apr, 2018 @ 8:22am
(The fleur of lis is golden too)
Pokesus 6 Apr, 2018 @ 8:19am
Hmmm... What about the shield of the Noble Family "Monterde".
:3 Is a blue background with a gold mountain and a "fleur of lis" (flower of lis) in the top of the mountain. n.n
Pokesus 6 Apr, 2018 @ 8:14am
Here the montante have two names, Mandoble or Montante. n.n
jagdtiger  [author] 6 Apr, 2018 @ 6:50am
I mean, about the shield, maybe something like this?
http://www.wikiwand.com/en/Flag_of_Castile_and_Le%C3%B3n

Should work well enough for a shield with a boss in the middle.

Mind you, I'm not particularly fixated on Castille And Leon. it's just an example. I could do Aragon instead, if you prefer, seein' as it's just stripes. Or some other region you want. I'm open to suggestions.
jagdtiger  [author] 6 Apr, 2018 @ 6:40am
Right, the montante... well, if you're Spanish, you should be fairly familiar with it. I hear you guys actually still have the expression "to put the montante between". On account of the greatsword actually being used in Spain by guards and such to separate two duellists, or people quarrelling, by literally first putting the blade of the great sword between them.

And if they still wanted to continue, hey, you have a great sword to drive the point home ;)
jagdtiger  [author] 6 Apr, 2018 @ 6:37am
Well, the swords aren't specifically copies of the Tizona or Colada or such, because the actual museum swords have been rehilted on hilts that are CENTURIES later in style. So those wouldn't be very historical.

It's just some swords that have the same blade TYPE, and a hilt that's actually historical for when those blades were forged. So if you were a spanish knight living in the same general period as the Cid, basically you'd be most likely to wear some variant of the Type XII or XIII from my mod.

I suppose the Type XI is fairly close in shape to the Lobera, if you want close to a museum piece.

As for halberds, you can try my Axes and Halberds mod from the Nexus if you're not afraid of installing things by hand, or with the Nexus Mod Manager: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11646

I never uploaded it to Steam because I wanted to redo some of the blade textures first, and that kinda never happened. The one in the first pic is final version, honest to history, though.
jagdtiger  [author] 6 Apr, 2018 @ 6:32am
Armours... well, I never actually did armours, so I can't help you there. But if you're into sword-and-board fighting style, you might want to have a look at my templar shields: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9673

Mind you, there's nothing specifically Spanish about them. They were used all over the place, and the cross pattern was especially popular among Christians of all nations, and ubiquitous among crusaders. And the mesh is designed to give you great visibility when you're blocking, so it may be worth checking out anyway if you're into using shields at all.

I suppose I could make you a version with the Castille flag, if you want specifically spanish?
Pokesus 6 Apr, 2018 @ 4:07am
and the colada with tizona is in the other mod? O.o i don't see it.
Lobera? The sword of Fernando? I don't see it, i don't know. :/
And i don't know that about the montante/claymore, wow. n.n
Well, are you a great person. n.n
Pokesus 6 Apr, 2018 @ 3:52am
Jagdtiger, i watched it, but i speak about more spanish weapons like the pikes, halberdiers, armors, etc. :3 PD: Damn, now i remember, the rapier is from spain. XD I forget it!
jagdtiger  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 9:27pm
And then I suppose there's my greatsword mod. Although the hilt is more typical of a lowland Claymore hilt (because of the spiral handle), on the whoel it's very close to what would be called a Montante in Spain and Portugal, and be very popular in the renaissance. Even the proportons largely fit those stated by Pacheco de Narváez and Rodríguez de Canto. So that's another option for a Spanish enough sword.
jagdtiger  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 9:23pm
Well, and then there's the Arming Swords collection. None of those were specifically spanish, but they were used all over Europe. Especially the type XII is the most used sword EVER in medieval Europe, and the type XIII was the most used in the crusades.

More to the point, the Tizona (a.k.a. Sword of Cid), one of the national treasures of spain, is Type XIII blade, albeit with a later hilt. And I'd imagine Castille And Leon would use a lot more of type XIII in the final stages of the Reconquista.

And the Lobera, the personal sword of King Ferdinand III, and another national treasure of Spain, is a type XII.

And then there's the Colada, a.k.a., the other Sword Of Cid, which is probably the most typical Type X blade, although again with a MUCH later hilt.

So I'm sure you can find something worthy of a Spanish hero in there.
jagdtiger  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 9:23pm
Hmm, have you checked my Secret Of The Silver Blades mod? I can't think of a more Spanish weapon than the cup-hilt rapier there. Mind you, they weren't the only ones using it, but at one point it was actually a mandatory accessory in the Spanish court.
Pokesus 5 Apr, 2018 @ 2:07pm
I LOVE ALL MODS OF HISTORICAL WEAPONS! <3
Pls add a mod with spanish weapons and armors. :'3
|501st| DJ_Cactus 1 Mar, 2018 @ 2:49am
LOVE this mod, currently reuniting the Empire with the dual scabbard katana, and the dual scabbard greatsword, Stormcloaks never knew what hit them
Klingenbart 25 Jan, 2018 @ 12:42pm
Sehen gut aus, passen sich schön ein und sind nicht (zu) OP: Spitzenjob! :D
jagdtiger  [author] 6 Sep, 2017 @ 7:42pm
Glad it worked in the end. But yeah, sometimes Steam takes a lot of time before it downloads a mod. Dunno why, but I've had similar experiences before with other mods for other games.
Tarak_Selic 5 Sep, 2017 @ 7:49am
for some reason my first attempt at installing this didnt seem to work. Steel smithing had nothing under it... I unsubscribed, closed game. Resubscribed, and it worked great.. Thank you for my katana :)
jagdtiger  [author] 9 Aug, 2017 @ 7:46am
Oh and the faces are my own unholy combinations of Ashen, Moonshadow Elf, Underworld eyes, some ported ol' Ian hairdos with my own transparency fix, and some skull and .tri mods thrown into the mix. I'm kinda like ol' Doc Frank N Stein. I have Igor bring me a heap of body, and I take the skull from one, the nose from another, the scalp from yet another, and so on. And then I cackle maniacally and scream "IT'S ALIVE! ALIVE!!" when I throw the switch and make it past character creation without a crash ;)

Well, and my own hair colour, 'cause it had to be the right shade of carrot on top.

I can't share that mix since I don't own the components, but Ashen can be fairly close. Especially if you want to play a pretty vampire, the Ashen have a mod that prevents the sunken cheeks and general gothic rock band look ;)
jagdtiger  [author] 9 Aug, 2017 @ 7:39am
@Sagittarius
I've seen some "shuriken" mods already, but invariably it's a shuriken shaped wand that fires projectiles that are also shuriken. In NV you actually had the throwing animation.
jagdtiger  [author] 9 Aug, 2017 @ 7:37am
@Fireeagle711

I wrote the clothes mods and the links to them in the "Clothes" thread above. Bearing in mind that some of the stuff like the black or burgundy Rogue Sorceress outfits are my own recolours of it, but the mesh is still the one linked to.
Fireeagle 8 Aug, 2017 @ 6:42pm
what are hte mods he's using in his game ? It looks like semi-anime texture I love it !
jagdtiger  [author] 8 Aug, 2017 @ 2:58pm
In the New Vegas version :p

It would be trivial to port the mesh, but the problem is: NV has thrown weapon animations. Skyrim doesn't,
jagdtiger  [author] 17 May, 2017 @ 9:35am
Or, I suppose, you could always get goldbrand. It has essentially the same stats as a shinobigatana, i.e., long ninjato, except the damage is bumped up to daedric class.
jagdtiger  [author] 17 May, 2017 @ 9:32am
Well, the ninjato IS supposed to be a hybrid, somewhere between sword and dagger. And actually gets higher dps than the katana if you do the aforementioned enchant trick, because of the higher speed.

That said, if you're not afraid to install stuff with a different mod manager, you can get the Nexus version (so Steam doesn't overwrite your changes) and the Creation Kit, and just edit the damage and/or speed to what you think is a better balance point. It's literally just typing a number in a form, not some feat of hacking.
alemismun 17 May, 2017 @ 9:26am
Probably
jagdtiger  [author] 17 May, 2017 @ 9:23am
Hmm? I think that's more like for the ninato, innit?
alemismun 17 May, 2017 @ 9:22am
Still, 25 - 75 dmg makes more sense for a katana than 9dm (dmg of a iron dagger rip)
jagdtiger  [author] 17 May, 2017 @ 9:20am
Well, it's not really hard to get any weapon's damage to 1000-2000 per hit, if you use enchants and smithing. As in, even an iron sword looted on the way out of Helgen.

Just level up enchanting, make a set of clothes with +smithing enchants, sharpen the weapon. Make a set of clothes with +1h or +2h enchants, depending on what you use, and wear those for battle.

Same deal with the armour value, btw.

And that's not even getting into the alchemy exploits. Now THAT's Sparta... err... that's madness.

So it never seemed worth making weapons with insanely high base damage. The base damage is at best icing on the cake there.
alemismun 17 May, 2017 @ 9:10am
Tho the damage sucks a lot.
9 dmg is very low.
jagdtiger  [author] 17 May, 2017 @ 8:14am
Well, I'm a bit of an (amateur) history nerd anyway.
Naga the Confused Undead 17 May, 2017 @ 3:11am
You did your history homework. I am so happy for this mod. Now the Blades look and feel like they should.
alemismun 15 May, 2017 @ 4:54am
Can you make it so you can buy it from more traders?
