This character has like four grabs and I'm barely lucky enough to get one
I swear this character has like melee bowser grab range but hes still fun and hes also one of my newest secondaries

I'm really enjoying the new down special! A wizard foot with utility fits the character nicely. Are tilt stick throws still being considered or did you decide against the design?

I had my reasons for replacing old Down special. I couldn't see it being in the kit anymore after I changed the smoke's hit properties. When it worked like Elianna steam it was terribly broken, but now that it's different it isn't really all that useful. Plus the fact the random nature of the move caused it to not work sometimes.

This is my favorite WS character but he really suffers in multiplayer (3+) matches. He need some iframes on grab animations. SInce that is a large part of his kit and he is easily hit out of grab animations by other opponents.
Also I like that the charge is now down S but can we get a button cancel on either that or the grab? Two moves where you HAVE to commit is a lot.
Also I see where Mr Cthulu was saying the down s was great to escape juggles... that's true, but I think d strong being air dispensable would be sufficient.

Why change down special? Ryke recovery being bad was a fun challenge and smokescreen was a great space tool and to escape higher juggles. It was an important part of the kit

Is there any chance that tilt stick inputs could throw out of cargo grab state? Really enjoying the character but cargo throwing feels a little awkward.

On the topic of abyss runes, rune C, which reads as "Fspecial startup and recovery decreased" prevents buffalo charge when you hold the button. Is this intentional?

why does buffalo charge go so, so far
the abyss rune that supposedly makes it travel further doesn't even seem to do that
i think you might've accidentally put the abyss rune version into the base-game as its distance is currently insane, you might want to tone that down a little

I agree with keblakev. Please bring back Buffalo Charge. I love using it, and it's an integral part of conditioning your opponent.

Please. I will honestly love to have that back. I created some amazing combo with it.
Please is it possible to have that back? Then people that may not want to use it can simply ignore it. Or worse case scenario, I am willing to download (if possible) the version , 2.15, I think that has that move.

I removed that attack and put it in a rune.

I guess if people want it I can add it back. Was kind of uninformed that people like it.

Just this morning I was using a version of Rykenburn that was so cool. I was able to do a charge move using his horns. (I was holding Fspecial). It was so cool. I closed and reopened the game and found out I couldnt do that any longer. Can someone please help! Thanks

Hi! I was wondering if you'd be ok with me looking through the code of your character to help with a project of my own. I'm working on a character that can throw bombs that make clouds of sleeping gas, and I'm not sure to go about implementing clouds. I was planning on looking at Elliana at first, but someone told me that the engine for workshop characters works differently than the ones for the base roster, and that I should ask to look at the code for your character. I tried playing it and I think that it's really fun and that it might give me a nudge in the right direction. Do I have your permission to take a look?

I don't think this is intended, but the smoke from down b never dissipates, and he can eventually cover the whole stage into smoke until the game lags too much to play

The smoke clouds from down B spesifically lag my game. I have a pretty beefy PC, but we know how GMS is. Is there a way to optimize the smoke clouds?

really sick character i wasnt expecting him to be so sluggish cause most of the other heavies in rivals are so fast but it works p well

I have to say, I miss when the smoke lingered long enough to be acted up off of more consistently. Otherwise he's still fun to play.

I'm a ganondorf and DK main on Smash Ultimate so I'm obviously biased but DAMN is Ryken cool as hell. At first I just thought he was a lot of fun but once I found out that I could power up my grab attacks by smoking enemies first the character became 3 times cooler. Keep up the good work, if they add more workshop characters to base Rivals at some point I really hope Rykenburn is considered as the Fire pick.

@Makoto Considering that Rykenburn is described as a 'rogue' general of the Fire Capitol, I imagine he didn't take too kindly to the idea that using smoke was considered dishonorable. I can see it too; a general can sometimes be so focused on victory that he's willing to overlook methods frowned upon by others. Granted, smoke in this case isn't exactly napalm, but the parallels are there.

Also, incredibly fun character. His reach is atrocious, even on his Sparta Kick, but I can overlook it because he do be grabbin' tho

i loved your character, but i have just 1 little totally not important complaint, why does he use smoke? in the RoA Lore isn't that a power only exhiles use? like, people outside of the fire kingdom? and your character is a general from fire capital, like, isn't that supposed to be a taboo? your going to release anything lore wise to explain that or you just thought it would be cool and didn't thought about the lore? i can also be wrong with what i said, so if i am, plz correct me
but again, this is not important at all, the important part is to have a cool character, and you have a cool character

I absolutely Love this character, visually fantastic. I love the Ganon inspiration as well as that Brawly move ;). Hit boxes and frame data need a bit of work and honestly I believe it's mostly buffs that he needs (Please Read the Discussion I left).

Again great character please keep up the good work.

When the enemy gets the Smoke status effect they are surrounded by a grey box as well as being shaded gray.

also it seems as if there is a new graphical bug, when the enemy gets covered in soot it will have a dark grey box over their model
