have all the assets but still cannot get the Play button to light up.

Feather River - is that the original route or the enhanced.
Stevens Pass - have the original do you mean to have all the enhance routes too.

Thanks for producing this interesting and well constructed route.
BNSF 2893 2 Nov, 2023 @ 11:28am
Hello, Idaho 2.0. I have been working for several months to a year on my own edit of this route. I love this route so much, the challenging saw tooth gradient the rolling hills, the beauty. Do you ever plan to make any short extensions such as the WIM to Potlatch or BN to Juliaetta?
Acela944 19 Aug, 2021 @ 12:29pm
v neat.
Warwick Rail 19 Aug, 2021 @ 9:29am
Here is a list of workshop scenarios for the route.
slugsmasher 4 Jan, 2021 @ 6:00pm
Having fun with this in Freeroam and making my own switchlists. One problem though, the industry and mainline tracks that crossover at Garfield are not connected. If you try to go beyond the interchange or the industry spur bridge the train will derail due to unwelded track. Just a caution for anyone trying to use those spurs/tracks for anything.
idaho 2.0  [author] 29 Dec, 2020 @ 12:23pm
Oh wow that's so cool! Thank you so much for finding that. I know the Whitman County Historical Society has some track charts, however as of now I haven't been able to find any online
slugsmasher 27 Dec, 2020 @ 6:28pm
Fabulous Route!!! Thank you. Very much captures the spirit of the eastern side of the Cascades with it's vast spaces and little farm towns. Just did a Quick Drive run and it looks like it will offer a lot of operating potential. Heading to the scenario downloads now.

If there are any schematics or track charts available online, please post link.

For anyone looking for an Employee Time Table, check the wx4.org website (use the "search the Dome" option and enter "palouse"). There is a Palouse River & Coulee City RR TT from 2005 that covers this area, also a 1952 NP ETT for the Idaho Division.

If someone were to create an alternative version, I might be willing to take on converting some scenarios over time if you were willing to have that. Since I have all of the replacement assets I named (except the SP GP20, but that is one I'm looking at), I could switch out the trains and internationalize them. I just can't get the Stevens Pass allowance unless the graphics pack is separately available.
Cyclone 13 Dec, 2020 @ 5:22pm
And it seems to me in a sense that DTG almost doesn't want to fight it. I have been told that BNSF is still at least talking to them, but BNSF has bigger fish to fry than worrying about a license for a video game at this time having to worry about COVID stuff. Doesn't make an excuse for 2015 to early 2020, however, and given it's been five years, I think the only way I'll ever get this is if BNSF winds up becoming available again. I do think a version under the same route ID available on RWA would be a good idea, then we can still download the scenarios. But up to you if that's worth the effort. Obviously I can still play it, but there will be nothing special with it.
idaho 2.0  [author] 13 Dec, 2020 @ 4:42pm
And what sucks about all of this is I am a huge BN enthusiast who primarily makes BN scenarios, and because of that most of my scenarios are just completely unavailable to most of the TS community now...
idaho 2.0  [author] 13 Dec, 2020 @ 4:40pm
I'd like to, however as you've seen, much of the route is heavily dependent on GNTX assets (Stevens Pass) for accurate wooden bridges, realistic embankments, vintage houses, and almost all elevators and other industrial buildings. If I made a patch it would really have to include GNTX assets, which are free to download on their website and do not include BNSF owned content. Using this content however would make the route only be available on the RWA website.

And this is assuming I'd have time for this, and unfortunately I can't as of now set aside the time for that commitment. It'd be kinda nice if somebody else could possibly take on the challenge though, because it is a serious issue that I'd like to address but at this moment cannot.
Cyclone 13 Dec, 2020 @ 4:11pm
Can you create a graphics patch for non-US players who cannot acquire Stevens Pass? The patch could be included in the description and run by such players to change the graphics to a different set. That way it's not a complete blank area where those are used.

BN trains - including the SW1500 pack - cannot be used by international users. I would not recommend advising scenario makers to use those for that reason as it will limit play of their content by those not able to edit the content independently. Possible replacements include the GP38-2 in the N-Line from the 2020 package, Southern Pacific GP20 (or Western Pacific GP20 High Nose), the D&RGW GP9 from Soldier Summit, the SW1500 from Donner Pass, and any old SD40-2 even going as far back as Cajon Pass (but may be better to recommend Sherman Hill's or another more recent one). Scenario makers could make both versions and thus have the alternative version for the extremely unlucky. All we need then is a graphical patch.
Lt. Dike  [author] 30 Nov, 2020 @ 6:28am
Really glad to see that everyone enjoys the route, and what I've seen from the screenshots and my friends have confirmed everything, including the grade up Sunshine Hill. Recently went up all the way to Spokane a few times, and the line running all the way there is spectacular - I think an Extension is in order, albeit it would probably take an additional 500 hours and is definitely for when my guy has time. Heck I'd pay good money to see the track from Plummer to Bovill-Elk River and then back to Palouse back when it was still MILW back in the 70's.
WCRC84 12 Nov, 2020 @ 12:33am
I agree that using TS is a great way to preserve defunct routes. A few years back I started working on the Woodinville sub between Woodinville and Snohomish when there was talk of the Eastside Freight Railroad leaving the area. Fortunately they kept going for a few more years but now that they actually did cease operation few months ago, I may have to start up on that project again.

All I remember doing on that route is importing terrain, laying the mainline, placing a few scenery objects, and then losing motivation to proceed with scenery. Knowing how tedious scenery work can be on a route, especially when you're the only person working on it, gave me a real appreciation for the professional look of your route. A combination of the variety of structures (no noticeable duplicate buildings), the constant trackside foliage, the variety of ground textures, and all other details make this route just plain stunning.

Again, great work!
idaho 2.0  [author] 11 Nov, 2020 @ 10:28pm
Thank you very much! I'm glad it's being put to use. Overall it took about 500 hours. I started in 2016 and finished the first version late 2017 I think, but the place I lived at was very remote and did not have good internet access. Recently I just went into college and that's I was able to make some revisions to Moscow as well as posting some scenarios.

Many years from now when I'm retired and if a TS version is still around, I'm absolutely making several Milwaukee Road mainline sections. Years ago that was the goal, but things are a bit busy right now lol. Mainly this route was created because much of it is being abandoned today, and I thought it'd be neat to try and preserve it in some way.
WCRC84 11 Nov, 2020 @ 9:54pm
This is by far one of the best routes that's been made for Train Simulator. You have a real eye for detail and know exactly how much effort to put into any given scene. I've put in several hours of running on this route and the previous release. You've done a great job of recreating the look of eastern Washington. Great work!

How long have you been working on this project?
idaho 2.0  [author] 18 Oct, 2020 @ 11:00am
Thank you very much! That means a lot. Honestly so much work went into this, it's good to see it being put to use.
JPS 18 Oct, 2020 @ 4:43am
Congrats on this fantastic route! Many, if not all payware routemakers could learn something here. Very well done! I hope more scenarios will follow.
idaho 2.0  [author] 16 Oct, 2020 @ 11:28pm
Wow thank you so much! I'm glad you like it, quite a bit went into making it
Micro and Soft 16 Oct, 2020 @ 10:31pm
Absolutely fantastic route. I subscribed to the original Camas Prairie route way back when, so when I saw this had scenarios for it, I was super keen to check it out. It's probably one of my favorite workshop routes so far. Really feel the passion for it, and it has some super scenic portions. Hats off, dude. Job well done.
idaho 2.0  [author] 12 Oct, 2020 @ 7:25am
Hey all! Scenarios are out now. Head to my workshop page to find them.
idaho 2.0  [author] 12 Oct, 2020 @ 7:24am
Thanks Steve!
steved666 11 Oct, 2020 @ 11:09pm
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Acela944 5 Oct, 2020 @ 5:43am
"I didn't realize deleting the route in game would delete the route on workshop too..."

Wait... WHAT!? That's illegal! Why did DTG implement that if you delete the route it deletes it anywhere else? That's dumb.
idaho 2.0  [author] 3 Oct, 2020 @ 1:51pm
At some point I'll create a forum above that has links to some of the images and videos I used.
idaho 2.0  [author] 3 Oct, 2020 @ 1:49pm
Anything north of Pullman I would go to in person, often via bike. Getting to these spots was difficult for me when I first started out, mainly because I was too young to have a drivers license throughout the bulk of the project. I would literally either have to convince my parents to drive me to weird spots in the middle of nowhere, or I'd find a way to bike there myself.
idaho 2.0  [author] 3 Oct, 2020 @ 1:49pm
Thank you very much! And oh boi that's a fun question. I used online photos from the Latah County Historical Society, WSU historical photos of Pullman, I went in person to the Whitman County Historical Society and I visited much of these sites in person as well. Moscow was the hardest to re create, in fact much of the next release will be just simply a downtown Moscow yard improvement focused on historical accuracy. The research process for Moscow took at least 20 hours and is still underway with the help of steam user Engineer. It was especially difficult because EVERYTHING is different today compared to the 80's. For Pullman I relied on a cool video from the 90's that details the UP interchanges, as well as many aerial photos from the Whitman County Historical Society.
Clipper Northern 3 Oct, 2020 @ 12:29pm
You did an absolutely *phenomenal* job with this! I live in the area and it absolutely breaks my heart to see what’s become of rail in the Pullman/Moscow area. Very happy to see it live on virtually. If I may ask, what sources did you use to reconstruct the tracks (to figure out where they used to go)? I’d like to learn more about what it used to look like. I walk by the area in Pullman where the UP tracks used to be (before they were “merged” with Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern’s track to make a single track) all the time. To see it now, you would never guess there used to be track there.
john.p.mackay 2 Oct, 2020 @ 12:05pm
Thank you and I can wait for your final work of this route. That's not a problem and just wondering about the scenarios. No big deal and I can find another scenario to use to run on your route.
idaho 2.0  [author] 2 Oct, 2020 @ 11:14am
Quick announcement: Thank you to all that downloaded and voted, I can now mark the route as final. Before I do that I need to contact the Latah County Historical Society regarding information on signals. I'm also revising Moscow Yard, mainly the Crites and Latah County Grain Growers facilities. Once I've finished that, I'll be able to post my scenarios. Thank you all again!
idaho 2.0  [author] 2 Oct, 2020 @ 11:11am
Hi John! Thanks for downloading the route. For now, you're only option for scenarios would be using the Quick Drive feature or Free Roam. I can't post scenarios until I mark the route as final, which will be in about two weeks when I finish upgrading Moscow.
john.p.mackay 2 Oct, 2020 @ 9:37am
I have a question for you and it's about the scenario. I had your route on my program of Train Simulator 2021 to run. But where do I find the scenarios for that route? I have trouble finding the scenarios for any routes that are available through Steam like yours. Will you don't mind to tell me where is the scenarios or maybe none. Look forward to simulate your route.

Thank you,

John
idaho 2.0  [author] 2 Oct, 2020 @ 8:55am
I should say it was more of my mistake really- I didn't realize deleting the route in game would delete the route on workshop too... but really I had no idea it'd do that. This route is updated from that previous version though, and with help from steam user Engineer I'm working on a historically accurate Moscow yard revision.
Acela944 2 Oct, 2020 @ 8:41am
Oh okay I see now, "due to TS error" typical TS engine.
Acela944 2 Oct, 2020 @ 8:39am
I'm confused. Is this a reupload? I've already been subscribed to this route for the past couple of years. What gives?
idaho 2.0  [author] 1 Oct, 2020 @ 4:18pm
Honestly I'd love to be able to do a real logging route, based in the St Maries area. I've thought about it for a while. TS doesn't really have any real logging routes. When I think of a logging train I think of old late 50's era geeps pulling way too many janky lumber cars literally overfilling with unprocessed timber crawling through an poorly maintained ROW deep in a forest in the middle of nowhere.
[RSS] Cpl. TheOneFreeMan 29 Sep, 2020 @ 10:42pm
Boi, south of the Plummer Turn here. I'm literally too stupid to make a replica of the St Maries River Railroad. Tried to get SRTM shuttle data and still have a massive scroll behind my end table of a scan of the engineering layout of the turn's dimensions. This needs to be a thing, screw Trainz and their Avery-Drexel thing, keep going west!
Lt. Dike  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 10:05pm
Hey, I'd be glad to. I don't think I'd be of much help - my preferred era is generally the 1940s, but I really have found some great stuff. There are, surprisingly, a *lot* of pictures of even just Moscow, though. I'll shoot a request over and we'll see how it goes.
idaho 2.0  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 9:58pm
I saw that! I'm glad to see the railway's doing alright, they even replaced most of the track, ties, ballast and bridges in between Spangle and McCoy. I think that means trains can finally reach 25 mph again safely. I think they're still using the tracks in between Garfield and Fallon for storage, but no revenue service :/

Some good news about the old WI&M though; When I was talking with a sawmill owner who has a facility along the line, he was saying that using the rail line would be a far cheaper alternative to trucks, but only if a rail company can repair the tracks first. He said there were rumors of the Spokane Spangle and Palouse RR taking that on, but this was in 2019 and nothing was concrete as the SSPR was just then coming into the scene.

I'm super interested to know more about your Trainz project! You should send me a friend request, I'm always happy to talk to local rail history people! And maybe we could compare info too which can help both of us moving forward.
Lt. Dike  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 7:52pm
Hey, friend! Living in Moscow these days, and yeah its sad. You know that recently the line changed hands? The W&I went dead last year, and has since been replaced on the Washington side. Spokane, Spangle & Palouse as its known. Seen a few of their engines and rolling stock on my travels in this region. Lastly, like you, I am extremely interested in this region, as you are. However my motives are a little stranger. To me Railworks is harder to model for, so I'm attempting to use the latest in the Trainz series. I aim to make it from Pullman to as far as St. Maries, or Kendrick. Its the lost route of UP, NP, some MILW and Idaho's own WI&M. Seen the WI&M 4-6-0 in Potlatch, and its a wonderful engine. Wish I had the DLC to run this, but I trust you made this expertly.
idaho 2.0  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 2:09pm
I did! Recently I regained access to internet so I've been cleaning up some areas on the route. I ran into some issues and deleted it from workshop by accident, so this is just a slightly improved version of my original upload years ago. Thank you very much for downloading, I really appreciate it! You've been here since day one.
kengilbertson 29 Sep, 2020 @ 2:00pm
Just ran a couple quick drives, nice work. Did you do this a couple of years ago, I seem to remember running something similar a while ago? I did grain research in the area in the late 90's, and drive through there every few years to see family in Oregon. Always liked the Palouse area.
Thanks for all your work. Tried to give a thumbs up, but it seems to be not working. Thanks again.
idaho 2.0  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 1:32pm
Update: Just two more votes and I'll be able to post some scenarios. Thank you guys!
idaho 2.0  [author] 29 Sep, 2020 @ 1:31pm
Thank you! I'm currently trying to contact some of the people who worked on this line back in the day to get some of that info. When I do get that info, I'll post a list of common trains that ran along the line in the discussions area.
AdamKPalmer 29 Sep, 2020 @ 1:26pm
Real nice to see this route again, do you have any resources for the BN train numbers for the trains that traversed this line?
CrazyGecko 29 Sep, 2020 @ 9:26am
Looking forward to exploring this.
idaho 2.0  [author] 28 Sep, 2020 @ 10:50pm
Ahahaha nice catch! Thank you very much :steamfacepalm:
Not.Silent 28 Sep, 2020 @ 9:26pm
Hi idaho i don't know. A very minor error (that will make you laugh) - you have misspelt Burlington in your title. Easily fixed of course.
idaho 2.0  [author] 28 Sep, 2020 @ 2:40pm
Thank you Bruce! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
