Feather River - is that the original route or the enhanced.
Stevens Pass - have the original do you mean to have all the enhance routes too.
If there are any schematics or track charts available online, please post link.
For anyone looking for an Employee Time Table, check the wx4.org website (use the "search the Dome" option and enter "palouse"). There is a Palouse River & Coulee City RR TT from 2005 that covers this area, also a 1952 NP ETT for the Idaho Division.
And this is assuming I'd have time for this, and unfortunately I can't as of now set aside the time for that commitment. It'd be kinda nice if somebody else could possibly take on the challenge though, because it is a serious issue that I'd like to address but at this moment cannot.
BN trains - including the SW1500 pack - cannot be used by international users. I would not recommend advising scenario makers to use those for that reason as it will limit play of their content by those not able to edit the content independently. Possible replacements include the GP38-2 in the N-Line from the 2020 package, Southern Pacific GP20 (or Western Pacific GP20 High Nose), the D&RGW GP9 from Soldier Summit, the SW1500 from Donner Pass, and any old SD40-2 even going as far back as Cajon Pass (but may be better to recommend Sherman Hill's or another more recent one). Scenario makers could make both versions and thus have the alternative version for the extremely unlucky. All we need then is a graphical patch.
All I remember doing on that route is importing terrain, laying the mainline, placing a few scenery objects, and then losing motivation to proceed with scenery. Knowing how tedious scenery work can be on a route, especially when you're the only person working on it, gave me a real appreciation for the professional look of your route. A combination of the variety of structures (no noticeable duplicate buildings), the constant trackside foliage, the variety of ground textures, and all other details make this route just plain stunning.
Again, great work!
Many years from now when I'm retired and if a TS version is still around, I'm absolutely making several Milwaukee Road mainline sections. Years ago that was the goal, but things are a bit busy right now lol. Mainly this route was created because much of it is being abandoned today, and I thought it'd be neat to try and preserve it in some way.
How long have you been working on this project?
Wait... WHAT!? That's illegal! Why did DTG implement that if you delete the route it deletes it anywhere else? That's dumb.
Thank you,
John
Some good news about the old WI&M though; When I was talking with a sawmill owner who has a facility along the line, he was saying that using the rail line would be a far cheaper alternative to trucks, but only if a rail company can repair the tracks first. He said there were rumors of the Spokane Spangle and Palouse RR taking that on, but this was in 2019 and nothing was concrete as the SSPR was just then coming into the scene.
I'm super interested to know more about your Trainz project! You should send me a friend request, I'm always happy to talk to local rail history people! And maybe we could compare info too which can help both of us moving forward.
Thanks for all your work. Tried to give a thumbs up, but it seems to be not working. Thanks again.
