I will delete when the author updates this
At the end of one of my error logs it said;
[jomini_script_system.cpp:278]: Script system error!
Error: has_trait trigger [ Cannot find zelous in trait database ]
Script location: file: common/decisions/cbas_exchange_decisions.txt line: 736
If you go to line 736 of the cbas_exchange_decisions.txt in the steam workshop folder rename “zelous” to “zealous” this error will go away.
I would appreciate a balance check in future if the author has time, the resources you get from all the decisions are rather high. They could all be cut down by 50% or increase the time by events by a large amount. Something like that should work:)
Love the mod<3
if I switch piety to prestige the game will crash, click in the button "get rib of obnoxious preachers"
i'm telling because this mod is very good and to you keep doing a great jog ;)
@JonasK
the error: [dlc_descriptor.cpp:70]: Invalid supported_version in file: mod/ugc_2244077160.mod line: 13
this one seems to be from my mod but it's not impactfull, it's just a work around to get rid of the 'not same version' icon from the mod manager.
the other errors don't seem to be mine none of those files belong to the mod
I've also just tested the game with only currency exchange active and it works
note: I don't have the 'friends and foes DLC' yet so i'm not able to test everything but it should be working.
[dlc_descriptor.cpp:70]: Invalid supported_version in file: mod/ugc_2244077160.mod line: 13
[localization_reader.cpp:212]: Expected quotation mark (") at end of line 16 in localization/english/religion_ural_l_english.yml
[localization_reader.cpp:188]: Expected quotation mark (") at line 1142 and column 19 in localization/english/religion_ural_l_english.yml
[pdx_locstring.cpp:93]: Key is missing localization: game_concept_game_concept_alhambra_structures
it should be working just fine!
@Aetheroth
Don't worry, only the player can trigger events from the various decisions.
The AI will pick a Decision (depending on their traits) and will receive the 'exchange' after a delay, but will not trigger any 'flavor event' or characters, that's only for the player.
Just to be clear xD
When you 'donate money to a temple' for ex, there's a chance to trigger one of those random events to deal with a character, the AI will not trigger this, it will only pick the decision and automatically trade gold for a temporary trait, Piety, and stress buff or debuff, after a small delay, bypassing those flavor events completely, and its the same for all the other Decisions.
So, only the player can get new characters ;)
Other note!
AI characters will not spam this, some rulers may never pick a decision, it depends on their traits, and AI 'cooldowns' are longer than the player's, still, be careful some trait combinations may surprise you.
There is an issue with the fact that the AI can use this though. Some event chains can spawn up to 5 new npcs. As the AI keeps taking these decisions, and spawning in more courtiers into the world, the number of courtiers can become quite taxing on one's computer. For example, in debug mode; my character's wife's ID was about 45543 about 30 years from game start. About 100 years later, I checked one of my kids and their ID was somewhere around the 3 million mark.
My suggestion is to implement the thing that the creator of "invite debutantes" did i.e. once you pick the courtier you want, the rest get killed off instead of being added to the world population. In this mod's case, when you pay the beggars/drunks/wenches and send them on their way (instead of hiring them), they should get killed off so as not to clutter the world. Of course, if this is all intentional in order to add more pops to the world, I can understand that.
My only feedback and suggestions would be a balance patch:
The amount of gold you get, especially early on should really be finite, getting two lumps of 400/500 from the two decisions is just too good:P
It maybe should be no more than 100g:)
and the prestige/faith costs, mainly the prestige costs, could be doubled. Later on I've still got 20k + prestige even after the new culture reforms:/
Finally, a small amount shaved of the skill points and renown decision for balance reasons:P maybe 400 renown. Or maybe just up the cost of the decision.
All the decisions seem to give some + to opinions, something like +15 to vassals opinion on the buy favour from court, all these could probably be chopped down to +5, or possibly just make the decisions more costly.
Enjoying the mod, hopefully that's been some useful feedback:D
AI will do exchanges now passively.
I've played and observed some games for each starting date and everything looks fine!
Feedback guuuuys!
But anyways I agree with you. (without that christ BS)
@Fenragon No worries!
I thought it didn't, I was wrong!
@fenragon @General Gunroy It does work in ironman
No
A few things of note:
-There are some spelling and grammar errors in the events, do you want me to start a discussion thread to notify you of the ones I find?
- As it is, it's a bit too easy to start a fresh save, trigger all the decisions in a row (cycle through them) and end up with a surplus of currency and a huge boost to your piety and fame levels.
It might be an idea to have the decisions have a shared cooldown or diminished returns. (Give the one who activated a stacking debuff which lowers effectiveness of new exchanges by 33% for 5 years or something.)
But now all exchanges are even, at least base costs and rewards.
Good or bad exchanges will only depend on your character's skills.
@cbas - I don't think getting AI renown is particuraly unbalanced, it will probably buy some useless perks anyways, and for AI base resources, especially gold, are much more useful, so it will actually weaken AI using it.
@Vanhal I thought about renown, but since AI will eventually use the decisions it might get a little out of hand, but i'll test it ;)
For now I'm trying to give the 'rewards' a delay, for ex: when you trade prestige for gold you get a letter from your knights with the money collected but only after one month, or when you chose to trade piety for prestige u might find a secret or a hook on your priest, something like that, just to give some flavor xD
@Vanhal
There is ingame trait for this - Writing History - Can use the Commission Epic Decision in Diplomat/August.
Yes, its small but anyway.
