Can anyone provide some guidance as to how to make this work alongside Iridar's Five Tier weapons? I'm trying to replace the cannons there with the battle rifles from this mod.

the coil rifle has no sound or muzzle flash when used with the Xskin ,theres any fix for that?

I noticed a bug with the Battle Rifle, it doesn't have any firing sounds when used with Suppression.

There is a conflict somewhere between this mod and Iridar's Coil and Laser Ghost Templates, just FYI. Would love to use both of them together : /

Absolutely love the Battle Rifles and Strike Rifles. I'm using Xskin so being able to swap in a heavier assault rifle or lighter sniper rifle skin to suit the role of the soldier is awesome. Especially love the firing effects of the Battle Rifles, really makes them feel like a proper intermediate between their respective cannon and rifle variants.

I am rather new to using WSR and would simply like to use these as either minor variants alongside the default, or as purely cosmetic options, however it is proving more difficult than I thought to implement them as such.

Ok so I was wondering exactly how much of the template is set up for WSR. Could I simply give the templates damage statistics and such or do I need to configure everything(Animations, attachments, ect)

@NotSoLoneWolf: I'm making a mod that, among other things, adds Battle Rifles and Strike Rifles as cannon and sniper rifle variants respectively, each with their own templates, signature ability and compatibility with Iridar's Bayonets and Underbarrel Weapons. Your asset pack would be a dependency. I wanted to ask permission for this just in case (even though it's not an integration).

So Firaxis has finally made weapon models that modders can't kitbash. You'd have to make said weapons from the ground up or port models from XCOM:EU.(only the lasers are not at this point) The former sounds like a lot of work for not much payoff.

No, because the TLP weapons are a lot more visually complicated than the laser and coil tiers. They're all jagged edges and bits and bobs and cracks and scars. Changing the dimensions of different parts of the weapon would make it look really weird, believe me I've tried.

This is great! I used it to do a quick tier conversion, mag->LW2 Laser, beam-> LW2 Coil. Everything works fine, except neither the lase rifle or coil rifle has any particles when it shoots. I even copied the exact WSR commands from the Consistency Mod just to make sure and still nothing. Any obvious things I might be missing?

Question: When you say "Get someone better than me to make some laser and coil tier SPARK autocannons" does that mean you already have models ready for rigging? Or are you looking for an animation rig before you begin modeling? If you've got models ready Iridar has been pumping out custom weapons with animations for the SPARKS for awhile now, maybe they can lend a hand?

Great mod!

Has anyone been able to get any of these assets to work visually with Iridar's bayonets and underbarrel attachments yet? Is it even possible? I'd love to see a bayonet on a strike rifle.

Updated the tutorial in the config files to be a lot simpler with easy examples.

If I had enough modeling skill to make those, I wouldn't be wasting time on secondary weapons, but instead going for the big prize of SPARK autocannons.

I'm not sure if I know how to do that, to be honest. The kind of stuff you're talking about would be a step above the things I've done here. However, those are some good ideas that I could investigate when I have the time and motivation.

@youporkchop5 I don't think integration is necessary. The two mods are already perfectly compatible, assuming you're wanting to just use them as cosmetic replacers.

Or did you mean including them as entirely separate weapons?

Since you know how to edit meshes, I had an idea. What if you took the Helix Rail Cannon, and replaced the usual rotary component with a resized Pavonis Laser cannon? The coilgun spark rifle could use the usual autocannon base, maybe add some capacitors to the barrel, make it a bit sleeker texture wise, and make the barrel a bit blockier or use the front end of the Coil cannon

Read the tutorial and have WSR but have no idea what you mean by any of it I just wanted the extra weapons and it looks like that without fumbling lines in the config file I will not be able to use em. Since I am one of those users that doesn't really know how to edit config files much.

You said that you weren't going to check all of the visual attachments, which is fair. I just wanted to mention that all strike rifles, when equipped with hair triggers, have their actual triggers disappear. It's not the biggest problem and I'd understand if you didn't want to look at it, but it was fairly blatant so figured I'd mention it.

I added a short tutorial inside this mod's config folder. For instructions on how to get there, look above at the mod description.

As for the animations, the ballistic BR has the same firing pattern and sound as the TLP light machine gun, while the plasma BR fires three plasma beams instead of one. The others should be the same as their respective ARs.

I'm doing something similar to what you're requesting. I use Veehementia's WOTC port of Ueiji's Battle Rifles, so I'll just be putting these battle rifles and strike rifles over that mod's battle rifles and marksman rifles.
