Id like for heavily indebted characters who dont pay back their rents after 10 years to sell their valuables/ throne room ornaments, giving you a prestige hit and loosing you dynasty prestige
Juke™ 20 Feb, 2021 @ 6:46am
finally I can literally sell my kingdom for more feasts

@cardolam Hey mate! sorry for the late reply. actually you will inherit the gold but not the 'contract' (debuff). thanks for the prestige rank idea, I might change it later

@cbas

The mod is very interesting but the fact that the sum is not inherited upon death lends itself to all sorts of abuse. Please, let the heir continue to have the loan.
Another thing that might be considered is to tie the amount of gold offered to the Prestige of the character. After all, not everyone should be lent 2000 gold independently of their prestige.

Other than that, very interesting mod!

Make it also possible for the player to give loans (with interest) to other people, and if they can't pay back, get a hook or claim on them. I think that was also theme of some mod in CK2.

Thanx for the explanation.
Your Mod could be very useful and you had a very good idea to put it in the game.
I like only mods with realistic mechanics.
For sure you have created this Mod without the purpose to do a cheat-mod,
but the absence of the obligation to pay back the money and no debuff-inheriting for the heir,
don't sound realistic.
I mean, no moneylender would avoid persecuting me if I didn't give him back his money.
For sure he would beat me or kill a member of my family for example.
I don't know if it's possible to put it in your Mod, but you should think of something like a "loan deadline" within which to give back the money (or at least part of the money), and serious consequences for the borrower and his family in case of non-repayment of the loan (...also for his heir).
You know...this is how it works in reality.

@alegdansk this means you can get a 2k loan before you die. you heir will inherit your money but not the debuff
cbas  [author] 30 Oct, 2020 @ 1:34pm
@alegdansk All loans give you a modifier that slows your piety and renown generation. nothing will happen if you don't repay the loan, but you wont be able to ask for another and the debuff will end when you die
alegdansk 30 Oct, 2020 @ 12:39pm
If I don't pay back the loan, what will happen?
cbas  [author] 8 Oct, 2020 @ 11:12am
Just fixed that 2000k loan tooltip.
It should properly show 2000 instead of 2500 as you can see in one of the images

@FunGaming44 yeah you're right. I think I see this as more of a roleplaying event (on top of the mechanics for lending gold), that you could go and seek financial help from a specific group of people but by still keeping it somewhat reasonable amounts.

If we were to discuss what is reasonable in during the era that we're playing, I wouldn't be able to really say, but considering that the pope only gives you ~150 gold in exchange for piety, on the lowest rank (plus negative opinion), who would hold such amounts of money that would be willing to loan it to someone else? (thinking of that 2000 mark)

Also, @itsjustmyshadow I would love that to be added actually. Instead of having to change this mod, or adding flavors to it or something like that, we could go and ask a specific group of people (religious, rank or whatever) and get different loan prices, interest rates and debuffs depending on who you ask!

Thanks for your input guys!

That scaling negative hit on prestige and piety is an awesome idea @itsjustmyshadow

I've actually thought in adding other ways or sources for the loans, but in medieval times a loan with interest was considered unethical or immoral, a sin, in some countries it was actually made illegal. I wont go deep into this, you guys can check this all over the web.
Lets just say I wanted this to be historically accurate.
But I plan to do that on another mod I'm currently working - Currency Exchange ;) check it out.

Now about the loan tranches, @FunGaming44, as @feios said, I see this as a cheat. Being able to get that 'exact' amount of money you need will empower you over the AI (that can't use the interaction)
Basically I want you guys to think carefully before commit to the 'sin'. =)

FunGaming44 3 Oct, 2020 @ 12:45pm
@feios but its not cheating since you need to repay it, we all just like different options instead of a huge jump from 800 to 2000 like @itsjustmyshadow suggested are much better loan values for choices. It would be cheating if we would get money without havng to repay it
ItsJustMyShadow 3 Oct, 2020 @ 12:33pm
Also I think that you could eliminate negative prestige and piety while taking loan. Better (IMO) would be to add (scaling) -1 prestige/piety per month while having a loan. Nevertheless - yours is probably best loan mod on the workshop. Kinda wish that you expand it more. Like maybe not only borrowing from Jews but also from burghers/clergy/nobles (everything via the same decision of course). Borrowing from nobility could, for example, give one of your vassal hook on you etc. It could be turned to fine, engaging, role-playing gameplay mechanic instead of just: oh, I need money for mercs so I'll look for a Jew... :)
feios 3 Oct, 2020 @ 12:11pm
I missed this from playing around in EU4 :P

@FunGaming44 wouldn't it be better to keep the loan rates as-is to prevent this mod from feeling a bit like "cheats"?
FunGaming44 3 Oct, 2020 @ 11:51am
I think the values @itsjustmyshadow said would be better as choices, still a huge jump from 800 to 2000
cbas  [author] 3 Oct, 2020 @ 11:42am
@Hendrixx @itsjustmyshadow

Updated ;) have fun guys
Hendrixx 3 Oct, 2020 @ 10:38am

MK Black 3 Oct, 2020 @ 10:26am
Well this might get banned.
ItsJustMyShadow 3 Oct, 2020 @ 10:23am
Small request - maybe some bigger variety of loans? At first screen there could be selection on size of loan (small-medium-big) and then, after choosing, 3 choices for each of these. Something like: 100, 200, 300, 500, 700, 900, 1200, 1500, 2000.
Would be coooooool :)
