Nope still not working :/
crashes sfm
Pte Jack  [author] 9 Jul, 2017 @ 8:41pm
unsub the model, try and load it. if it shows up, guess what? You haven't cleared everything.
Ry 9 Jul, 2017 @ 7:49pm
No i removed everything 'hunter' related except for this one. I even tried moving it to another folder and i tried giving it another name but it either ends up invisible or just crashes sfm. when it is invisible it gives me that .vvd error and sometimes the error index file for it but i am very sure it is in the right directory but i dont know what i missed?
Pte Jack  [author] 9 Jul, 2017 @ 5:16pm
Do you have another model the same name stuck away in Usermod perhaps? Or are you still loading the original from the L4D Game cache files, which is incompatible ith SFM.
Ry 9 Jul, 2017 @ 2:40pm
I know it's been like so long on this model but for some reason i have problems loading it. It's either invisible or crashes sfm even after removing the original hunter model from all the l4d folders.and moving this model to another folder than the workshop..
Pte Jack  [author] 25 Jun, 2017 @ 10:34am
Not this model. You may have loaded the original, which will. If you dsub this model, you have to make sure to give it a higher priority than the original.
sev 25 Jun, 2017 @ 10:19am
made my sfm crash
mouthbreather 22 Jul, 2016 @ 12:07pm
Ty for answer, but how can i change the priority?
Pte Jack  [author] 22 Jul, 2016 @ 10:14am
If the L4D textures have a higher priority than your workshop folders, they are going to load first. Make sure the workshop folder (or if you move this model out of that into a new mod folder the it) has a higher priority than the L4D folders.

I got wrong texture for this model (from l4d2) how to fix it? i deleted previous version from workshop folders and resubscribed, but it's still buggy.
Pte Jack  [author] 20 Mar, 2015 @ 12:38am
did you read the notes on sequences in the description?
Fullcaber 20 Mar, 2015 @ 12:19am
this model crashes my sfm everytime i try to give it sequence :]

A'right. Well, worth the shot I guess. Can't get worse.
Pte Jack  [author] 23 Dec, 2014 @ 12:16am
I've repaired this model. The original shone out like crazy from the get go. Sub this one, and set the workshop folder to a higher priority than the L4D pack. Load this hunter and see if it works. I don't think it was this model that freaked out the pack. VMTs are model specific.
[XIII] Razzlie 23 Dec, 2014 @ 12:11am
I see.. But by following this, will it completely go back to how it originally was? Or will there always be a slight difference?
Pte Jack  [author] 22 Dec, 2014 @ 11:41pm
Razzlie, Find this...

This model shines out on my computer when I bring it into SFM. It doesn't matter how many light is shine at it or what intensity I set them to. I believe the problem is with the Phong masking in the vmt. If have this problem when you load it and you want to see the detail of the model find the hunter_01.vmt (in your SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\materials\models\infected\hunter folder) and open it in a text editor. Locate the line that starts $phongboost and ramp it way down... (I found that a value between .008 and .005 work for me.)

I've ran into the same problem most others down below has aswell. Both the l4d2 and l4d1 special infected characters are all shined up in blue and they seem to be missing detailed textures. I've actually removed and unsubscribed, as I didn't find much use of them in my projects after some thought. But now I'm stuck with this shiny problem on my l4d2 special infected and it won't go away. I've completely removed and replaced the "infected" folder in SFM but the problem won't resolve. Any idea how to fix it? If there's any way around this I'll be very happy. I wanna try to avoid reinstalling the whole "l4d2 pack" for this tiny issue. Unless it's the only and last way out.

Nvm fixed it.

Installing this broke the l4d2 hunter's texture. How do I fix this?
Pte Jack  [author] 13 Feb, 2014 @ 5:59am
Using mat_phong 0 would remove all phong (or shine) from the model. It's an individual preference I guess. but that works too.
peeb 12 Feb, 2014 @ 7:18pm
an easier way to fix it is just entering mat_phong 0 into the console :P
Pte Jack  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 2:19pm
Because it is picking up on the first value you put there.
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 2:17pm
but it did remove the shine though
Pte Jack  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 2:15pm
It's just one ot the other... I said around .008 and .005 not both... lol
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 2:08pm
nvm I got the shine removed, I used the .008 and .005.
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 2:02pm
I do have VMT edit, but how do you place the numbers in the order? Just remove the two and then copy and paste? I am not good with editing.
Pte Jack  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:54pm
I put the process in the model description

If have this problem when you load it and you want to see the detail of the model find the hunter_01.vmt (in your SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\materials\models\infected\hunter folder) and open it in a text editor. Locate the line that starts $phongboost and ramp it way down... (I found that a value between .008 and .005 work for me.)
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:53pm
how do I adjust the phongboost? In game or in it's files?
Pte Jack  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:43pm
Excellent, I also added a note to the description about the Phong shine. If you find the model glosses out on you, adjust the $phongboost down to areound .005 to .01. That should fix it for film making.
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:28pm
The textures work now
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:21pm
Ill look
Pte Jack  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:16pm
Uploaded the new model with fixed textures. Have a look.
Pte Jack  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:07pm
Thanks Ranginald. I'll try and fix that. The textures in blend are hard to set because of the way they import. The other thing is that it is hard to see where they ended up on the finished model because of the shine. But I'll try.
Deluxe Dinner Stupidity 6 Feb, 2014 @ 11:32am
I got the model from the workshop, but it's face texture was not in the right possition, the red blood outline of his mouth is on his upper lip instead of surounding his mouth, and his chin has a line on it.
