Does this still work since 2020? If it does I'm wondering how you manage to do what you did...FCS doesn't seem to include any options for "Required Tools"...

Wow solid work there @MandalfTheGreen! Odd how we were working on similar things at the same time! I'm currently testing my own private collection of over 385+ mods for Kenshi. I'm still in the "playing" phase. So I was able to figure out how to dupe the item furnace building function onto a copy of the stump and stone models (might change to the tool model though) from IW and just categorised them as "Resource Gathering Spots". I'd prefer a different method, since you can exchange any weapon for the tool but whatever it's better than nothing.

So yes I definitely am interested in working on projects interacting with IW, I'll get to messaging people once I have a clearer plan/vision of what's possible. In the meantime my rig is still struggling to get through some regions, I had one out of video memory crash and another ctd without anything of note popping up in the log. I'm curious if adding this extra functionality to all the resources is contributing?

@.drew, there is a pickaxe item and a pickaxe weapon in IW

I am working on a remaster of IW, and I have a mod for it that uses the axe item for wood chopping:

I dont think that mod would work with just IW and not the IWK+ stack, as I am calling it.

Brilliant idea, though I can't seem to get it to work with the axes and extra resources in your Interactive World mod. I changed the consumes functions in the FCS as you did, but unfortunately it only seems to work with what I assume are deemed items and not the weapons added by IW. Maybe for a temp workaround we can enable there creation via building/crafting/research, ideally I'd like to convert the weapons somehow. I see there's the item furnace function (BF_ITEM_FURNACE) but I'm unable to figure out how that is edited or used so as to limit it to only these specific tools.

When I first played It surprised me that n the notoriously harsh and brutal world of Kenshi you could just pull a heavy, wooden and metal tool, straight from your buttox. This mod fixes that, thank you!

Is there a chance for conflicts with other mods which alter the content trader offer? (like mods which add research book and ancient books to trader)

Made a patch version of this mod for General Modifications. Should work, but I didnt test it. If its buggy or I forgot something, just tell me and I fix it asap. :steamsunny:

Really enjoy this little mod, adds a bit more difficulty to low fund starts until you manage to scrounge up enough cats to buy a pickaxe.

Just wish there was a patch for the new nodes added by the General Modifications mod.

Just make a pickaxe item and then add it as a consumable to the functionality of the iron/copper mine and set the stats to 1 (max store) and -1 (input/output) . Thats it.
