The main difference between No Clustered Starts and this mod is that I've increased the distance between players, increase the size of clusters for empires, and increased the number of connections between clusters.
If you are getting better experiences with a different mod go ahead, Unfortunately, there are very few levers to tweak for galaxy generation and the random nature of the game will tell.
We've only had a few games were players were not dispersed reasonably well.
We tend to use Random distribution as that seems to give better results but it shouldn't matter
I'll spend some time and update it to 3.0.1 I'll see if I can add some other map sizes
Yes our group uses that mod as well.
It works for tiny, small, medium, large, and huge sizes. Since the larger galaxies probably have their own galaxy initiation files this won't be able to affect them.
