I can't find any plant mods that add cucumbers and I honestly don't get it, what else is more perfect for pickling than gherkins

For those you comfortable brute forcing the missing icon error in your own copy, or for the author if they're interested, that VBE needs to be VPE. That's all.

Could not load UnityEngine.Texture2D at UI/VBE_CancelBrineMix in any active mod or in base resources.

Funniest shit I've ever seen.

I have pickled fruit this year (cherries and peach shrub, highly recommend if you like sour fruit stuff), so I can vouch that anything can be pickled. I have a recipe in one of my books for pickled butternut squash and canning pumpkin (has to be done in chunks at home, then pureed right before use). So this discrimination against pumpkins is ludicrous. ;)

I kid you not

It seems you're missing an icon for VPE_CancelBringingBrineMix throws a spew of errors when highlighted.

You know, i just had a funny thought. Fine meals require a vegetables and either a meat or an animal product. So, you could potentially mix a brined tomatoes with cow milk to make a "fine" meal, lmao. Wonder what it would taste like :D

VPE gives you legitimate reasons to choose the other plants over the base ones. There are many situations where they are more efficient, otherwise you'd have no incentive to use them.

This is all much of a muchness anyway - the actual differences in efficiencies in rimworld are so small that you probably won't face any significant disadvantage from just ignoring them and growing whatever you want.
Nishe 8 Oct, 2020 @ 9:42pm
"Corn, potatoes, and rice will always be the most efficient crops in the game that give you the most bang for your buck." This isn't really true tbh. Most of the plants added by VPE have roughly similar efficiency to the base game veggies except the ones that have some special trait. Onions are between rice and corn in efficiency, more efficient than potatoes, and also have the benefit of 100% fert sens. Soybeans are even more efficient than rice if you keep them in the right temperature. Peppers are between potatoes and corn, and with 100% fert sens. Peas are worse than potatoes but better than everything if it rains frequently. Eggplants are better than everything when it's hot. Beets are the only thing you can grow in the cold. (continued)
