When I make a Style like this it takes me many hours. I go through the Workshop, filtering items by type, and include only those that fit the Style I am creating.

Several of my Styles have assets included that are part of the District Style I create in the game menu, BUT some assets just WILL NOT spawn in a city when that Style is applied.

In my Styles "Sin City" and "Bad Side of Town", for example, all of the single-wide trailer homes just won't spawn, so in order to have them in my game I need to force them to spawn in an area that is not painted with the District Style Tool.

I have to spend more time with assets like these (that, though included, just will not SPAWN, for whatever reason) and allow them to grow (by bulldozing everything else until they appear) and than make them historical so they do not change appearance. Force-level-up Mod can help speed up this process.

hey man, love your work, i subscribed to the collection and idk why but when i choose this style and try to make office zones, no building spawns except star trust building, however when i make an office zone with no designated style some of the buildings in this collection spawn with other styles, checked the assets in game settings too, would be really cool if you can help me

This is residential, commercial and office high density predominantly, as it is meant for a big city, as the title says. To add period-realistic lower density housing try some of my other style Late 19th Early 20th Century American Historical, which is meant for newer cities such as St. Louis that had more low density sprawl than a city like NY or Chicago.

is this pack made for high density residential only or all high density? and what about low density?

Hi Ben, it sounds like your game did not load the assets you're subscribed to -- are there "vanilla| buildings or are they gone, too? If it is just custom assets you are missing then try using Skyve and follow instructions on that workshop page as to getting an Error Report and see what is going wrong. If even vanilla buildings are missing then you probably need to reinstall the game.

hi m4gic i have subscribed to some of your district styles and i opened my city and all my special buildings and districts are gone. only streets are left/ what can i do to get it back?

Diversity is not automatically generated. The game has a high preference for 4x4 assets. If you paint a large area green the game will try to spawn as many 4x4 residences in there as it can. I advise painting smaller, isolated areas of various sizes, such as 1x2, 2x3, 3x4, 2x2, etc. When buildings grow you can add props (fences, shrubs, trees, etc.) to create "yards" or you can fill in any empty zones next to the buildings for a more dense neighborhood look. Also, each growable asset has various levels. You need to allow them to level-up, and they will change appearance (unless you make the building historical, in which case it will level up but will not change appearance). If you do not want to wait you can try Force Level Up mod. Have fun!

I found the mod "building themes" where i can manually plop buildings.

I have set the respawn of the always automatically used house set to 2 and that of another to 100, but this 4762Nd Av 3 (L1 3x4) building still comes again and again ..... :steamsad:

unfortunately I only get 1-3 different kind of buildings.
I am new to the game and do not know what I'm doing wrong, maybe there is a simple explanation?!
Do i need some extra mod to use the district styles?

Steam doesn't like it if the link is not isolated, so your first attempt won't show. The second link works. It does appear to show buildings that fit within this Style and Collection, but did you have a question, comment or concern?

This is predominantly high density. If you’re trying to grow a low density city, you might want to try bad side of town and good side of town. Those two collections and district styles have some modern buildings but a lot of early 20th century content as well and a lot of low density.

There are approx. 35 office assets according to my search through the Collection just now. Go to the Collection page (link above) and use ctrl+f and type "office" in the search and click through - you can see the size and level of several of the Office assets. That should help you make the correct sizes for the offices to spawn. Note that if there is no Level 1 building at that size it will not spawn anything at all, but if there is a level 1 but not level 2 it will change to a vanilla model for level 2 and then back to an asset in this Collection if there is one of the appropriate size at level 3. You can also try removing the District Style from certain areas where you want offices to grow and use your bulldozer and "make historical" tool to select the proper model and make it stay. You can also use the Force Level Up mod to get through the various levels quickly to achieve the look you want.

I am fairly new to the game and love this mod! I'm having difficulty getting office zones to develop with this district style. Some buildings will develop, with only a few job positions, but mostly zoned office remains undeveloped. There's plenty of demand, with a highly educated population. Office will develop in the basic district styles within the same city, just not this mod.

Any advice for a beginner? Thank you!

TLDR: A "missing asset" message is not inherently an error. The game still works, and all other assets are still available. Ignore the missing asset messages.

Hi all; sorry that some creators removed or otherwise corrupted / damaged their assets. Removing assets from a District Style is very difficult and extremely tedious. Perhaps when CO releases CS2 they will have fixed the EXTREMELY CLUNKY method for creating and editing District Styles. Until then, these error messages of missing assets are entirely harmless, so there is no need for you to post these long error reports that make it seem like there is a problem with this District Style. There is not. It is awesome. There are, however, some assets that are included in the Style that for one reason or another are no longer intact / functional on the workshop.

I triple checked all my district style collections and this one is the culprit and its causing errors with some broken assets, same as the post below:

Hello! I’m having issues w/ assets being labeled as missing/not loading even though I have clicked subscribe all. I have also tried clicking each individual missing asset under the styles tab in main menu to ensure I was subscribed. Despite doing this, the following assets are still missing:

The issue is not Memory use as my Game RAM use, Game pagefile use, System RAM use, and System pagefile use are all within the limits of my rig. I really appreciate the effort you put into this style, and it is certainly one of my favorites, so I would definitely appreciate some help. Thanks!

Hey I'm trying the mod but it hasn't been doing anything. It's activated and all, and it does show up in the options in game, but when I try using it, nothing happens. Am I doing anything wrong? ^^

Yes, it sounds like you are running out of memory or exceeding your PageFile limit.

Are you subscribed to only this Collection? Try unsubscribing to everything else, and launch with only this collection and see if that works.

If not, read about increasing your pagefile size online, see if you can do that.

The missing assets are likely skipped due to your computer running out of memory.

Hello there! I've got your assets, but have multiple problems:
1. Game just crashes. So I can't even see the plot of your collection. May your collection crash the game due to my not much strong PC?
2. When I open items list to subscribe from game menu, there is a lot of 'missing' building, which are already downloaded. Why they are 'missing'?

Ah ha! That is it! Try Historic American Expansionist City - it is meant to be played as set in the late 1800s / early 1900s and has both low and high density assets. If you have a good PC you can use both Collections and Styles as they are highly complementary.

Probably a local issue on your end. I will check it shortly and let you know what I find on my end.

Meanwhile, there are no mods in this Collection - so what do you mean "mods not working"?

As with all of my Collections that are meant to be set in a specific place and time I purposefully did not include some props that are listed as "dependencies" for some other assets - these will show up as "missing" if you use Loading Screen mod, but they were never intended to be there. Satellite dishes would not look right in this Collection, would they?

This District Style and Collection is fine - you may be experiencing overloaded memory or some other issue that has nothing to do with these assembled assets and District Style.
