when you first spawn it in, yes. that is becouse some objects need to be placed underground and arma dosnt know how to spawn stuff in underground, so when first spawning it in youll need to select all the objects then drag them all down to ground level (youll find them all in their on folder in the entities tab to make it easier)

Is it normal for random buildings to be floating 100-200 metres in the sky?

its a comp so you can use it on any map, i just recommend using virtual do to its size

To be completely honest Its so freaking good. If I had any reccomendations the only one I could give would make you wanna jump off of a cliff, and thats placing those pier blocks. But placing about 2 clicks of pier blocks is like a prostate exam with a rusty, deformed, plastic spork. But DAMN THAT DETAIL. issofreakinggood

thanks! but don't worry, the feeling is completely understandable. to say this is tedious to place down would be a colossal understatement. and clearly i haven't learned as thats what everyones also saying about my vault. and emperor forbid, you miss click and mess up the placement and have to start all over again. to say ive put a few holes in my desk out of frustration over just that, would also be a understatement. but, not to "toot my own horn", its can be so worth it once it is finally placed down. lots of replayability with a comp of this scale. just make sure you save it once it is placed down so you wont have to do it again haha

So! I shall forever despise you as placing this down is difficult due to its size, however the sheer determination, time, and beauty placed in this composition is the most beautiful thing ever. The emperor would most certainly approve. You have *everything*, from a full sized airstrip to an active under construction industrial zone. Everything looks so damn good and I must say: You are amazing, and never forget it. Now to glass a planet to fit it XD. (want to be clear, this is me saying this is good and not complaining, just me being an ass. Again amazing work, mother of pearl)

damb, on "full" settings i honestly haven't a clue, definitely a rig way better then mine haha. this is a pretty big comp though, would imagine there would always be a notable hit to performance

Serious question: how much money do i need to sink into a gaming rig to be able to play this map in PVP on full settings?

I'm guessing the map geometry alone, possibly coupled with AI pathfinding, would need an i9 at the very least...

I wish this didn't murder my fps ;-;

thats a great idea, i believe theres even a big one in 40k space marine i could use as a basis. atm im just finishing up a huge vault for fallout but maybe for my next project.
YaBoiDank 18 Mar, 2021 @ 3:42pm
if you ever need an idea for something that would be intresting and a bit smaller, a fully furbished titan forge like with a warhound with the scafolding around it or something would be a cool addon

thanks, im glad you enjoy it! and yea, makin big comps like this can truly tedious work, but its always worth it in the end
YaBoiDank 12 Mar, 2021 @ 2:08pm
this is amazing, and i usually never leave a like or comment on most workshop comps but this, is, amazing, and i imagine it took forever to make

Still, good job nontheless!

yea i dont know the lore enough to know what it should really be called, its more ment to "feel" like one in arma without setting your pc on fire. its possible to get the traditional look from the outside by stacking the outer walls on top of each other, decreasing in size as you go like a pyramid. but it would add a couple hundred extra objects to it

A complete hive city in-game would have to be built on top of itself until it hits the skybox, to which would probably crash the game, make aircraft unideal (in game play terms), and navigation would be almost impossible without looking at the map every 3 minutes.

This is the 40k equivalent of a small-town or an outpost, BUT it's arguably better because it works! rofl

still, alot of effort was poured into this. It looks like something that took forever to make and I empathize with that. Good job man!

10/10
