Hi, just letting you know, building lumber mills on the forest does not add any production. The production yield stays the same. Unlike fishing boats where the +1 food is added to improving the tile.

Can you send me the direct download link for me please?

Is see a lot of wisconnsinites in this comment section hating on this motherland. Do I need to remind you that your only export is cheese and you lost the dairy state title to California?

Wisonsin defines Lakes way differently than Minnesota. If Wisconsin went by Minnesotan rules, they only have about 6000 while Minnesota has 16000 by Wisconsin rules.
jummin2 15 Oct, 2017 @ 4:34pm
Lol land of over 10,000 lakes? Well Wisconsin is OVER 13,000 lakes.

Hmm, this one was decent, but it's definitely in need of an update. The lack of artwork and music made this one feel a notch below your other states, although overall it was still pretty enjoyable. I liked the hockey rink quite a bit. Mall of America wasn't bad, but it did feel like it wasn't quite powerful enough, since you can only build one. Compared to some of your other unique national wonders, like Ellis Island or Minot Air Force Base, it was lacking. The UA was good, but it did feel like you missed an opportunity with this one by having the food bonus come from fishing boats instead of lake tiles. There are plenty of civs that get boosts for coastal tiles, but only a couple that boost lake tiles, and Minnesota would have been a perfect civ to have a lake focus. Overall though, I enjoyed playing this civ.

I laughed my ass off at the Hotdish part. Every year I come back home for the holidays that seems to be what everyone makes so that was spot on.

Although slightly imbalanced I do enjoy playing this civilization. It is adept at fielding a massive empire, massing culture or even if you get the right start building a moderatly sized military. One thing that amkes this incredibly brokena t higher levels is the Hockey Rink. I feel the Coleseum is already broken in vanilla and this just breaks it more. I would instead suggest adding one gold instead of culture.

I have lots of family here. I may just get this.

thegrumpybuddha 8 Aug, 2014 @ 4:47pm
What's the start bias for Minnesota? The couple times I played it didn't start me near a coast, which made the fishing boat bump not super useful.

Given that Minnesota is all about the lakes, more than being on the coast in real life -- maybe +1 food and +1 gold from lakes? Bumped to +2 food after fertilizer or somesuch.
thegrumpybuddha 8 Aug, 2014 @ 4:39pm
Seems like this is +1 production from *unimproved* forests, as I built lumber mills and didn't see any bump.
thegrumpybuddha 2 Aug, 2014 @ 10:53am
Thanks -- Alaska was what we used before and he stopped a war just as it was getting good. Massachussetts looks awesome -- I might have to play that myself!
calcul8or  [author] 2 Aug, 2014 @ 10:27am
Actually, make that Massachusetts (just uploaded) - I think that's my highest war-like setting
calcul8or  [author] 2 Aug, 2014 @ 10:23am
I'd have to go back and look at each, but New Hampshire and California are more aggressive if I remember right
thegrumpybuddha 2 Aug, 2014 @ 10:10am
Calc -- can you give us the wants peace/war ratings for the different civs? Who is the most likely to want war and/or refuse a peace treaty? A buddy of mine and I are playing MP and we want one friendly AI, but someone who won't go for peace at the drop of a hat.
calcul8or  [author] 8 May, 2014 @ 3:50am
@jgreen - I've got another state in the works, don't know beyond that.

@Sir Derp - I made some effort at keeping it balanced. Some things could not be included.
_Underscore_ 7 May, 2014 @ 8:07pm
maybe adding Mayo Clinic to replace the hospital for MN?
jgreen_infinity 7 Mar, 2014 @ 8:16pm
do you plan on making a mod like this for more states and possibly a mod that puts them all on one map. obviosly only 20 or so can be playable but i think this is a great and fun idea. keep up the great work and thanks for letting me play as my home state.
tittyfish 2 Mar, 2014 @ 7:21am
No need to apologize mate. I'm sure most people won't get to 17 cities lol. It is fun playing as my home state and for me thats all that matters. Keep the great mods coming! I will be subscribing to more of your mods for sure after this one! :happymeat:
calcul8or  [author] 1 Mar, 2014 @ 9:16pm
Sorry! I only did 16 city names. You had great suggestions for more names, though
tittyfish 1 Mar, 2014 @ 6:47pm
I really enjoyed playing this mod and thank you very much for creating it. However, I noticed that after 17 cities the names from Minnesota disappear and other names start popping up. (I like making a lot of cities lol) I would have also liked to have seen cities like St. Cloud, International Falls, Bemidji, Alexandria, Stillwater, Grand Marais and Redwood Falls (just to make it more statewide) also maybe include Climax, Embarrass and Nimrod for laughs.

@rain.spider1 - I definitely considered that, but went another direction. There is a spy named "The Mind" though

@calcul8or Utah is known for its Mormons more than anything else. It would definitely work.

On another note, I would like to see New Jersey, but that's because I live there :P

@IngerTrist - I'm thinking a civ with a religious advantage?
Forty-One Loose Centipedes 19 Feb, 2014 @ 5:18am
Might I request Utah? We're a pretty odd state and it'd be kinda fun to see it as a civ :)
ajclemente1 18 Feb, 2014 @ 6:48am
Make James A. Garfield leader for Ohio he was president from North East ohio

To those who have asked for it, the Illinois mod is now uploaded here , but I could use some feedback on it
calcul8or  [author] 15 Feb, 2014 @ 9:34am
I thought about that but wanted an earlier boost.
jackthebroken 15 Feb, 2014 @ 9:32am
Why not make the hockey rink a replacement a replacement for the Stadium? The Stadium comes after researching refridgeration, so I think it would make a lot more sense. I realize it's late game and not that useful, but you could give it something like a good tourism and culture boost as well as extra happiness.
calcul8or  [author] 15 Feb, 2014 @ 5:19am
@DustyMayfire: Others have had this isue too. Here [forums.civfanatics.com] is one thread with suggested fixes
calcul8or  [author] 15 Feb, 2014 @ 5:18am
@sabrjay: Once you're subscribed, you just need to activate it through the mods menu. Step by step instructions here [grogheads.com]
Dusty 14 Feb, 2014 @ 11:13pm
I subscribed, but it doesn't allow me to enable the mod when selecting a mod in the game menu. The mod title doesn't even show up. Anyone know how to fix this?
sabrjay 14 Feb, 2014 @ 8:05pm
I subscribed, so how do I download the mod?
