and yeah, im expecting to get some of that stuff. comments have been pretty good so far actually, but there have definitely been people rating it down and stuff.

Very happy to see this. Props to you for adding the flags I neglected. I'll add a note to my mod's description to download yours instead.

Don't get too discouraged with the inevitable shitty comments, just delete, block, and move on, and it'll subside.

While i'm not personally part of the LGBTQ+ community, XCOM is very much about Representation, especially 2. XCOM and The Resistance doesn't care about your race, religion, gender, sexuality, or creed. They just care that you're willing to fight for Earth, in whatever capacity you can.
