i only seem to have wild male dodos spawn in my jungle biome colony. and they are still named "cock" even while wild

Living in a grassland biome and the terror birds are more common than herd animals (and smaller predators too, like veloceraptors or foxes). Consistently, there's 5-7 on the map, and I actively try to hunt them regularly to reduce their numbers. Considering how dangerous they are (and the fact that they keep eating all of the ibex-like animals, and nothing tries to eat them), it might be worth trying to tone down their spawn rate.

It's like having a den of 3 bears spawn in every other day haha.

Are male wild dodos supposed to just have "cock" as their name ?

i dont think i have a mod that is renaming male birds to "cock" since cassowaries and kiwis arent touched by this

I found a small bug. None of the animals in this mod have a <soundEating> tag in their XML. This means that they're completely silent when eating. For all vanilla animals, there's XML tags like <soundEating>PredatorLarge_Eat</soundEating>, <soundEating>PredatorSmall_Eat</soundEating>, <soundEating>Herbivore_Eat</soundEating>, etc.

The May 4 update did not fix it. However, I tried the pull request on Github by @TGrumms in a local copy and that worked. So it needs to be merged and distributed to Steam.

There was an update on May 4, does anyone know if that fixed it? The changelog doesn't show anything and I don't see a comment from the mod authors

@trocapalot sorry if this steps on your toes, your commit looks fine, but I was mid way through working on a patch mod to fix this, so I've created a larger PR that will also fix the issue :) Made the naming scheme of textures consistent & added some new textures that I felt were missing (ie, female synthetion grew a horn when they became desiccated)

I have no time to fix the texture issue atm. That being said, the github for the mod is PUBLIC:

please fix the problem with the corpses having missing textures, it's simply done by updating the content inside the texPath as it must exactly match the texture name (literally just capitals): <texPath>Dessicated_thrinaxodon<texPath>

Reported it in the discord, temp fix, use the edge of your screen to find the invisible shamblers and destroy them with dev mode. Disable them in animal toggler mod settings for now.

Found an issue with Shambler Sabertooth squirrels. there's no texture so it's causing massive errors. Looking for a patch now but haeds up for those encountering this issue. If I find a patch, I'll let you know.

So, in Vanilla, predators make up about 10% of the animals on the map. With this mod enabled, about 30% to 50% of animals on the map are predators. Is this the intended outcome? Doesn't seem very vanilla feeling. Otherwise excellent content, love the animals themselves.

I'm having an issue where my colonists get eaten by every velociraptor on the map as soon as they get hungry, does anybody know what do with that?

the same mistake happens with Thrinaxodon textures when they rot. I do not know what kind of CE is mentioned below, so I cannot say if I have it or not, but I think not because I do not know about it.

I'm getting the aforementioned error as well, dessicated SabretoothSquirrel texture seems to be somehow broken.

I've reduced my modlist to only this mod, CE, and both their respective dependencies. The error has something to do with CE, BUT it is fixable by renaming the textures of the Sabertooth Squirrel and Thrinaxodon corpses to use the presumably correct case.

For example, by renaming the file "Dessicated_thrinaxodon_east.png" to "dessicated_Thrinaxodon_east.png" it works. The same for the north and south variants and the SabertoothSquirrel files (Dessicated_sabertoothsquirrel_east.png --> dessicated_SabertoothSquirrel_east.png). I think CE is looking up the textures to do CE magic and is relying on a common naming scheme or something.

Can this get the 1.5 update? I'm not comfortable messing with the XML files myself and Rim Sort is still reporting it as outdated for 1.5, I remember you said all that was left was some Skeletons and you'd push the update back in October.
