I suspect I still get +1 shield HP from plate armor, even when "AblativePlatingStatType = eStat_HP" is set in the config. I do not see any other possible source of this +1 shield.

sry maybe somebody can help me. its not this mod its a general problem. when i am using items which gives shield energy it seems it only partly work. for example when using the bubble weave on my whole team only 4-5 get the shield the rest dont get it even in the list of bonus abilites the bubble weave is shown. hope somebody can help me how this can happen and what to do to fix it.

Through your comment, I figured out the problem I was having and it was the same mod conflict as you!

I encountered a very special situation, if I turned this mod on in AML, it would have no effect in the game, but if I turned it off(including deleting the mod), instead the soldier's HP would show an orange Ablative HP above it, apparently it was working when I turned the mod off.
What can I do to fix this, does anyone know about all this, thank you.

Found the culprit!

The mod "Delta Strike Redux" is the cause of the problem and you don't even need to activate the second wave option for the issue to manifest.

Thank God I added the tag "New 2025" to all new active mods in my modlist... without it would be a nightmare to find the conflict.

Did anyone encounter a mod conflict that is causing the armor bonus and ablative shield bonus to swap?

Its affecting both soldiers and SPARK armors (all 3 tiers)

I'm trying to narrow down the culprit but no success yet... I even unsubscribed and resubscribed to be loaded last and nothing.

The interesting thing is that after looking for a possible issue, I remembered of the SHIV mod and added its entry to XcomDefensiveOverhaul.ini and for this armor its working properly.

I just realized that this mod makes all medkit upgrades useless. Endgame soldiers would have about 10 health which even a basic medkit can fix.

This seems to be incompatible with weapons and Item overhaul.

Everytime I try to pair this mod with WIO I always get crashes on the first mission after Gatecrasher but when I swapped this mod with your "Vest and Plating Overhaul" I no longer suffered any crashes.

im not sure it has been asked here but how does the ablative tier works? is it additive to thew previous one or does it replace the previous one? because ive redone my config to have a

25 on first and second
50 on third and fourth
100 on fifth and sixth.

my target at the end of it all, is as you calculated if it were additive, 250 total ablative. which in my personal config, isnt much, lest of a sectopod wrath cannon damage of 800, and even on a tanky spartan-ii soldier with 300 HP and 250 Ablative and 50 Armor, thats only 600 maximum survivability only.

Avoiding wounds for taking a bit of damage is kinda the point of the mod. The mission rating has no effect on game balance normally.

I (and others) have some issues with project doll house changing the customization random when changing armor for the first time (even with the option that block it, is checked). Each upgrade the customization change again when equiping the new armor. Maybe its a conflict with this mod? There is any way to not change the default customization with this mod or it simple does not change anything on base game?

honestly I always found it weird that in EU/EW if your soldier took less damage than the armor provides they don't get wounded but if they take ANY damage in X2, even if it's less than what the armor provides, they get wounded, so this mod technically restores the behavior from EU/EW which I find to be nice, though I could do without the base armors being nerfed in favor of these extra ablative upgrades

Hi @Iridar, in the Compatibility section of this description you have [WOTC] ADVENT Armor: Reverse-Engineering included. Could you tell me, if I wish to edit the stats of the armours for those mods, do I only use the hp config? I ask because they have their own shield configs but I'm not sure how this mod interacts with it when you say it includes explicit support.

For instance, can I have a mix of hp and shields with those mods or would the hp be converted to ablative and their shield config add even more? Or do those hp configs get ignored from the conversion full stop and I can only get shield/ablative from their mod configs specifically?

I hope my question makes sense. :)

ah! i see, thanks for response, does this mod also put armour calcs before ablatives?

so if you have 2 armour, the first two points of damage are removed before ablative damage occurs? like a 4 damage blast (no pierce, no shred) hits a soldier with (2 armour and 4 ablative), = the resulting damage would be 2 to ablative?

I also tried changing the value in the gamecore file how much "HP" predator armour gave, so I tried 1 to 5 and nothing changed in game.

Hey Iridar, I cannot seem to use both Health increased from amour and your overhaul plating upgrades like I used to months ago, I tried commenting out from this mod first, nothing then better arsenal, nothing changed until I disabled this and got my +5 HP for predator armour upgrade, what can I do to get the ability to do both again? combine the plating upgrades with HP.

Prototype Armory requires config or bridge mods that add said config to convert squad upgrades into individual schematics, but this mod isn't really set up for a possibility like that.

First. Love your work. Use Five tier, your molotovs, system infilt, and the spark arsenal as pretty much my baseline with my games.

Second. I feel like I am missing something really obvious. (I was with five tier weapons (its in the readme...) and spark arsenal (theres a bridge i missed the link to), so it is completely possible.)

Is the expected behavior that the ablative upgrade is always going to be a squad upgrade even if you are using individual schematics for all other upgrades such as with prototype armoury? If so great. If not, back to the drawing board.

This does not support the Proxian Hero mod by default. adding this to the XcomDefensiveOverhaul.ini will add support

Sounds like you have a whole bunch of mods that can potentially conflict with each other, I suggest playing around with different combinations of mods until you figure out the culprit.

Has it happened to anyone that a newly made armor (predator for example) does not show the correct information in the armory screen?
I use mods like

Hello Iridar. I'm having a minor issue where the basic kevlar armor is duplicating in the loadout inventory, have you seen anything like that before? I can't find whats causing it. Of the things touching armor in any way I have:
[WOTC] Iridar's Armor Overhaul 2.0
[WOTC] Prototype Armoury
[WOTC] Armour Upgrades > WotC Mod Everything Reloaded
[WOTC] Proving Ground Overhaul V2

Other than that everything is great and working as expected, using most of your workshop. :steamthumbsup: I'm pretty sure I messed something up somewhere. Any insight would help. Cheers

How does this work (or does it work?) with other shield sources? If you dominate a shield bearer and use it to shield your squad, does it stack on top of this? If you're getting shields from a non-armor source (like, for example, the Ballistic Shields mod by Musashi) do those stack with this?

This mod is updated to version 2.0, now it works slightly differently. Please read the updated description for details. In short:
- New upgrade costs (see pictures)
- The remaining +1/+2 HP bonus on all affected armor is replaced by +1/+2 Ablative HP.

I.e. with this mod, armor only grants Ablative HP.

The default armor bonus is +2 Armor for WAR Suit and +1 Armor for Warden Armor. This mod does not change these values, only the health bonuses. You are either mistaken or are using some other mod that affects the Armor bonus.

Big fan of this mod, great improvement on the base game.

Got 1 issue though: The W.A.R. Suit gives only 1 point of armour, while the Warden Armour gives 2 points.

This feels really weird, as the whole point of the W.A.R. Suit is that it's meant to be the beefiest armour available. And yeah it gives the wrist mount but you lose a utility slot for it - to have it also lose an armour point makes it an undesirable choice as well as being not very thematic. Could you update this or offer instruction on how to do so myself? Thanks!
