It's additive, the smart suit will "close" the fake helmet unexpectedly.

With certain mod block mod types this happens. Best I can work out something else is making airtightness a bit wonky. It's not this mod but either keen or something else

Hey man, Unless im missing something I believe this mod needs updating. I'm not taking damage within a certain distance from my base grid.

Although it looks like there is no helmet, the game still thinks there is one so you need to ensure it's open. Unfortunately when I've tried to script this to be forced open it hasn't worked

Hello there!

I have an issue regarding your mod. Today we tried to play with my friends, however we were simply dying on each planet, vanilla or modded, while the atmosphere is High/Warm. Our Oxygen just depletes in mere moments, leaving us at 0 and thus lowering our HP and killing us.

It goes like that: Oxygen goes to 0 -> We get damage -> Oxygen goes to ~17 -> Oxygen goes to 0 -> We get damage -> ...And the cycle goes on.

Is it intentional? We wanted to roam at least around safe planets freely...

Not particularly, you need to replace the default with the mod and setup the default as an alternative.
Mod adjuster might be able to do something.

Is it possible to have a setting to force players to spawn without a suit by default? I'm setting up a scenario where I want players to start on a world without a suit, then be able to gain one by building a medical room.

The amended model are exclusive for this mod. There is no negotiation on this point.

Hello is having a character that has no helmet but keep the jetpack possible?
I was searching the workshop for it and the closest one I found was either they don't have a jetpack and no helmet like this one, or just a texture change of a cracked helmet that does not pressurise the suit.

The collarbones are a killer as there position is completely changed in the animations from the rig. It's kind of the best option, atleast this one has hair and ears 😅

It's not quite that simple, one of the objectives is not to introduce to many new textures as that makes the mod size increase. Another is to maintain complete compatibility with the animation system by keeping the existing rig weights. The final big thing is this has skin support doing anything else would not.

Ive noticed that the medieval engineers characters are more well modeled and such without a giant space suit on so an Idea on how to make these look nice is to take the versions of the ME playermodels that dont include the hats and aprons and edit them to be more Space Engineers fitting. rather than just trying to remove the backpack and helmet from the default astronaut model.

Is there any option to make this "no suit" as default spawn suit? On each respawn.

Yes this doesn't replace the default engineer. If you have trouble loading back in use the suit selection screen in the game menu to reset to default before trying again

@FurryJack, you need to change your suit at a Medical Station. Either switch the game to creative to drop one in, use it to change to the No Suit, then delete the block and switch back to Survival, or use the Admin menu to let you cheat in free blocks and do it that way. Just don't forget to turn it back off when you're done.

it seems there's a missing mod causing the scenario to not setup at all, I get the world and everything but I spawn in with my suit still and I have none of the items that I noticed Mavn had at the beginning to get some basic food and water.

I really wish this had more heads though, like your more male & female variety mods, that way I could take my suit off when entering the ship without changing in to a completely different character who spawns a magic beard and is a different race :barotrauma:

Would that be possible, Chipstix? Or is that too much work?

It will be a while before I'm back around to this topic. It's easy to make modification to the Character consumption you can copy the character SBC file from the game files and play around yourself

If your hearing grunting (I assume it's the pain sound) that means either your non existent helmet is stuck down or you are in a hazardous environment

For details of the numbers, I'm thinking keeping the O2 consumption of the player, but reducing internal suit/bottle by n^100. Suit has 952 seconds of O2, so it'll be 9.52 seconds, and bottle having 1587 = 15.87. It effectively makes them useless, but if you just want to do something quick it'll be possible without grunting noises. Same for H2: suit is 125 L = 1.25 L, bottle 1000 = 10 L (play testing will be required to know how much air time you can get with this, no way I'm doing some quadratic formula to figure this out). Sure you could grab 100 of these bottles, but then the player won't have space to do anything (also defeats the purpose). Or maybe the bottles should be n^1/1000.

Hey Chipstix great mod love it. Definitely adds a bit more of a challenge.

Could I request an easier mod version of this? The reason why I ask is because I hate hearing my engineer grunt "Ugh" every 2 seconds.

I was thinking if there was a similar mod, but with extremely lessened oxygen/hydrogen storage in the suit it'll help avoid those grunts while keeping a similar challenge.

What do you think?
