is there a better alternative? setting up the assault by manually changing names of each npc ONE BY ONE and then assigning them ONE BY ONE seems so boring. the set-up takes 3 times as long as the fight. seems counter-productive

if you are doing "Search Type: Classname", you must set "Goal Actor / Class" to "npc_combine_s", if you are ordering combine soldiers to assault. combine* does not work for Search Type: Classname

After trying without names, I did the name part just to see and it still didn't work (I do however have a bug in my game where I can't use any melee weapon because the game won't give me the weapon after I click it's icon, maybe in some weird cod interconnected way it's because of that?)

Very amazing and good, it even works with spawners.
Now I have a suggestion, can you make a "Stop Assault" button that makes the npcs retreat back to rally points?
too bad this doesnt work with vj base snpcs :(
