Thanks! I will try to adapt that workflow and see if it suits me.

@Kaiser, yeah sometimes i sketch first. But this one is based of a sphinx moth image from wiki but i did do a few sketches for it.
Definitely details later. Always get the structure up and runnig first. But yeah improvisations can happen. This one I had to change twice at the last minute and its way harder to change if you have to delete decals.
The fun part is having a fully functioning unpainted ship and then going to town on the decals and paint.

Can I ask you, what is your design process?
Do you sketch them first or go straight to production?
Do you design it from the basic shape and add detailing later, or do you focus on the detail and kinda improvise the overall shape over the course of production?
