NAF Large National Road

First of all, nice job with those roads. They are lovely <3

Working on a map, and using unlimited outside connections, i noticed most (probably all) NAF roads can't be used as outside connections. No matter how i lay them down, the green arrow won't pop, whereas it does on vanilla/other roads. Any explanation ? Like is it a limitation of the network ?

The bridge segments are not showing up for me. Any one know an fix for this?

SpongebobTotoro - Honestly not sure how the game handles that. It's just not something I got around to considering.

由比ヶ浜結衣 - That is an asset I overlapped with it. I don't remember the asset name at this point, but I think it was categorized as a building.

insert_funny_ign - It's not an issue I encountered when I was playing, but I haven't loaded the game in a couple years so I'm not sure I'd be able to fix it at this point even if I tried.

street lights for all NAF are flickering. is it my LUT or what?

The bridge is an asset, not a part of the road

really nice assets, but how can i build bridge pier like second picture when using bridge/ elevated model? nothing happens except the road color turns white

Holothurin The US interstate is the direct equivalent of the Autobahn and is the highest RL road hierarchy. Under that is US Highway (National Roads in game). Under that is Freeway, which is non-federal roads built to federal standards (Interstate or Highway). Then you got State roads (which can often be built to Highway standards), County roads, Township roads, and local roads.

The 3x3 is essentially a Freeway or urban Interstate without the central concrete barrier that is actually required when not divided by grass.

3x4 and 3x5 seems a bit necessary any. National Highway, ei US Route, rarely go 3 lanes. at that point your essentially building a freeway. A freeway is any kind of road network built to Interstate standards. most 2 lane highways get divided. 3 lane highways always get divided, or have concrete dividers, with limited access ramps.

Sorry for silly question, can I use this road changing to left hand drive???
Misused chair 18 Jun, 2021 @ 7:11pm
its definitely possible, I used to have 12 and 16 lane roads. can't wait for the 3-4 and 3-5! these are wonderful already and those two would make it even more perfect

@BOSS - Thanks! I don't have plans to right now, due mostly to game limitations. It starts to get funky when I try to put 7+ lanes in a single network, without squishing them down anyway. But it's possible I'll figure something out in the future because I wouldn't mind having that either.
BOSS 8 Jun, 2021 @ 9:51pm
@Greyflame hey awesome assets. I was wondering if you were gonna build 3:4 and 3:5 national roads for this collection?
Thanks
Holothurin 9 May, 2021 @ 11:59pm
Thanks for the input! The urban almost-a-highway solution sounds exactly like what i was looking for :)
me22ca 2 May, 2021 @ 11:02am
@Holothurin these don't have enough of a median to be a legal "Interstate Highway" in the US, so I'd say they're more the traffic light kind.

The smaller ones (like the 1+1) would be great rural highways; this 3+3 one I'd probably use more as an urban almost-a-highway arterial, taking advantage of it not allowing zoning to force things to be built on side streets, not on it directly.
Greyflame  [author] 1 May, 2021 @ 11:50pm
Holothurin - It can be either way honestly. Usually, when there's no proper median, it's just traffic lights, but sometimes I'll find them with offramps anyway. Or even hybrids.
Holothurin 1 May, 2021 @ 11:08pm
I'm not american so I have to ask here:
Are these 3+3 national roads supposed to be free flowing like our Autobahns? Or are they more like rural highways where local communities connect to it via traffic light junctions?

Expecting 😉
Greyflame  [author] 17 Nov, 2020 @ 11:24am
@DODIK - Thanks!

I am hoping to do some white lined / international versions down the road, possibly with some new near-side traffic lights. I have a bunch of work to get through though so it might be a little while
DODIK 17 Nov, 2020 @ 4:51am
This idea is so great and helpful.
Hope there will be roads like these with only white marks instead of yellow

@Señor Mustacho - that's technically from my Greenway map, but the map doesn't really look like that. These screenshots are all staged; I didn't even save the game after I got the shots. I'm hoping to release some maps using my assets in the future.

@aguaacrobata - The bridge in the second screenshot is the Willems Bridge . By default, all of the current NAF networks come with "plain" pillars, but I'm hoping to make some compatible bridges in the future.
Señor Mustacho 9 Nov, 2020 @ 8:03am
On what map is the 5th screenshot taken?
Redstone 9 Nov, 2020 @ 5:42am
Super happy that NAF covers basically all types of highways in the US and it's really high-quality.
aguaacrobata 9 Nov, 2020 @ 3:36am
Wow really like it! Thanks! The bridge version comes with the pillars like the picture or it needs to be custom made?

I guess a total number of 6 Lanes is purely enough. On Freeway/Highway/National Road perspective the Network Extension 2 mod didn't over extend it either as far as i know there were nothing like asymetrc Roads like 3+4, 2+5 or 1+6 which would sum up to 7 lanes (with 2+5 i could be wrong correct me if so). Maybe a 2+5 would be appreciated to fork of more smoothly to a 2+4 one but 3+3 and 3+2 would be personally prefered for such situations.
me22ca 8 Nov, 2020 @ 8:49pm
For anyone curious: these are 32m, so you can slip one in where you currently have a Large road.

Nice to have three lights for the three lanes. I put the vanilla 6-lane next to this and it makes Vanilla's tiny little traffic light look quite silly.

😍😍😍👍👍👍
