Making the ice staff harder to craft retroactively buffs both the fire staff and the boomerang. its not the fire staff that needs a buff but the ice staff that needs a nerf.

why would you nerf the ice staff and give it +2 nmf why not buff the less useful of the 2 and make the fire staff not cost nmf

great mod, only issue is a crash on crafting chilled amulet. nightmare amulet seems to be fixed, but ill try and get a copy paste of the crash report :lunar2019piginablanket:

From my feeling, the Dark Sword/Armor changes aren't really of much use given they're boss-purposed gear. Still a good chunk of adjustments :)

Right now I am hard at work on my Conquer the Constant mod. As soon as I am done adding something I will fix this nightmare amulet crash. When im doing that I could also make the amulets refuelable :)

Great mod! I have to turn it off on my current world though because it is causing crashes. The issue is occuring whenever the nightmare amulet is visible.I crafted one, the game immediately crashed until I disabed the magic mod. I put it in a chest and turned the mod on again. everything was fine until I opened the chest in which case the game immediately crashed again.

I think the Night Light needs another utility than simply providing light. Even if you buff the nightmare fuel consumption, it will always be less useful than a good old firepit or a lantern. Maybe it could have a nightmare creature repellent property of some kind, or an anti smoldering property.

Also 3) Im making another update for the mod, this time it will be fixing the nightmare armor that nobody uses, along with anything else I can think of. Personally, I would buff the fire staff by increasing the amount of time it sets mobs on fire for but I think that is impossible without making everything burn for longer regardless of what sets them on fire. The fire staff is just kind of forced to be this way :DSTskull:

2) the red gem isnt neccesarily better than the blue gem. Even in vanilla they are on a roughly equal playing ground- blue gems are only useful for ice staffs and red gems are only useful for life-giving amulets (im not counting the DFLY furnace because you only need one of those & dragonfly already drops the gems necessary to make it). In this mod however, the blue amulet gets buffed while the red amulet gets nerfed so even then they are still on equal playing ground (especially considering both staffs & amulets now have the same recipe).

Sorry for the late reply but I have a few things to say. 1) Regarding the fire staff buff, I think making it deal damage is kind of stupid because 99 times out of 100 im using the fire staff solely to distract a mob or for utilitarian purposes. If the fire staff dealt a ton of damage, it would kill whatever im setting on fire and it would drop ash. The fire staff's niche over the ice staff is that you are able to distract a monster much quicker, and with less uses taken than an ice staff. The only absolute advantage the ice staff gets over the fire staff is the fact that monsters are frozen for longer but in basically any instance where I need to distract a monster (I.E. mactusk) the burn time from a fire staff does the job.

I will add something very similar to what you have just suggested soon, jaskot. I suppose allowing the staves to be refueled would also be an indirect buff to the fire staff, as im not really sure how to buff it in any other way besides tuning the durability or something but thats boring :/

Great mod! My suggestion is that you could add configurable durability of purple amulet. Or option to refuel amulets/ gem rods. :)

Really cool, but I feel like fire staff could use a buff, it is way less useful than the ice staff, yet costs a more useful gem.
