Can't you change it so that an embarked worker only turns into a workboat if you upgrade him? Or is that impossible?

Do workers set to automated, automatically improve the lake and become a water improvement such as fishing boats permanently?

@inahut: yes, it can happen but it's pretty unlikely. for a worker to become a workboat, they have to enter a lake that has an unimproved resource that is in your territory. so worst case scenario, you're forced to improve the resource.

So, if I am not careful, if my worker is not careful near a lake, he can fall in, become a boat and never be able to come home to his city or family again?

Finally, with worker/workboat being the same thing! It's stupid that in the normal game, workers can't just build improvements on the water while embarked.

Pity about the crashes. Seems silly you can't actually improve lake resources.

Yes, removing the script will fix any crashes but it will also cause none of this mod's features to work. As I've said, please send me a save game where it crashes. I haven't be able to reproduce this, so I can't fix it until I do.

Short Update:
I "kinda solved" the crash by opening the lua-file in the editor and removing all instructions there. Something related to that code there seems to be the cause of the repeatable crash.
At least now I could continue my game - of course without new workboats. Hope this helps all ppl who experience a similar problem until the author finds and fixes the real cause.

Still very nice mod for several mapscripts and scenarios :)

The Mod worked fine for about 180 turns, but now I get a repeating crash at the exact same turn - during the AIs turn. Reloading some turns ealier didn't chance anything.

The crash will make the sound skip for ~100ms and then about one second later the game crashes with some error message I can only click but not read, because Civ5 is still in front of the message.

Is there maybe a problem with workers, embarked military units and ships stacking ?

I'll admit that the same crash happened to me once, too. This mod is still pretty beta.

Causes my game to crash everytime I embark a worker.
