When im use ALT nothing happaning climb just "deleting"and im get down without climb(sorry for my bad english).I mean i need to go down WITH climb,but when im use ALT climb DELETE and i get down and die)

I don't think there's too much of a difference between making a frankenstein's monster codebase and how most people code. I also think being able to put in the effort to put together all the code segments requires a good deal of intellect, so give yourself some credit and maybe put this on your job portfolio.

There's a distinct difference between being able to write something like that from the scratch, and reading through other people's code and lua guides with just enough understanding to staple together such a Frankenstein.

Huge chunk of code, responsible for, basically, most of the mod has been replaced from my wacky variation (which, to be fair, junkily, but worked) to whatever I sto- tactically borrowed from linked mod.

Im not a good coder, Im just a very stubborn reader and can learn from examples.

The issue here is that I can't figure out how to rotate that node according to the surface it appears on. I would have went with something less unassuming, but it looked awful, so instead of learning how to code rotation, I just crutched it with funny sticky balls.

its actually a great idea, but its just that i havent touched the addon in months, plus gmod has been offing me whenever i try uploading something new. just... later & if i dont forget.

Can you make max attachment distance a separate variable than max rope length so it's less of a grappling hook?

If you are, perchance, running it with movement mods or similar addons that change the default binds, then this mod wouldn't be able to register inputs. 95% of the issues with mods is addon conflicts that happen all the times. This particular mod relies on +INSPEED and +INWALK inputs, which you can not manually enter into console, unlike +SPEED and +WALK to see the results, atleast to my knowledge.

Have you tried turning off all your mods, except this one, and using it? If it works, then its most certainly an addon conflict.

The mod doesn't seem to work for me, when I press shift or alt the rope doesnt move at all and I can't seem to fix it.
If it helps im using it in multiplayer.

Now that's kinda useful. Still no link to so called "other rappelling mod", but at least something is clear.

Im no engineer, but Im sorta pissed every time I see "MOD NO WORK!" without aby specifications. Heck, I have installd at least 4 mods that conflict with half the fun shid in workshop, and that's kinda my problem.

I did figure something out, and I mean conflicts these days for some of us who are trying to build a comprehensive realism mod set we do want things functioning as intended. I got the other rappelling line mod to work with crouch to descend; I figured that out by accident as I think prone mod is changing the descend controls.

I imagine If I were to redownload this, maybe that would also be the case.

If you don't find it useful then I apologise, I am not like most brain dead annoying steam users as I was actually trying to contribute useful information regarding bugs and conflicts and I actually take my intelligence somewhat seriously.

It's a great mod actually, this is nice work.

I have no quarrels wiith you, in fact I have only good things to say about you and the mod. It's awesome, love the physics and the fact it's actually rope texture and all unlike grappling hooks.

i found another rappelling mod I am not sure if they conflict having them together but I imagine they would as they both have similar controls and physics possibly explaining why I can't descend only ascend with this and the rappelling weapon.

Likely addon conflicts. Im using this mod myself all the time. As first disclaimer warns, I can't guaratee compatibility with everything. Especially if there is no LUA Error report that links the error to the code within this mod.
