Perhaps a strange idea, but do you know if it would be feasible to make a dummy using a turret as the base (as you did with the economy blocks), so it could actually shoot? I'm not all that familiar with SE modding so I don't know if that would be possible, but if it is that could add some more immersion alongside the static NPC dummies.

For those interested, it's easy to make a GPT chat script to change the NPC dialog boxes regularly; this will add immersion.

@homadsen I know about the offset dummies issue. I'll see what I can do to improve it, but for now it's a limitation.

I am planning to add more dummies hopefully this year. I'm definitely adding some with tools and components as well as dummies using new blocks.

love this mod ! gives so much live to my base.. but I got problems with welding some off the dummys, the offset ones. And that a big pian because t they are some of the best ones :-(
anyone else got that problem ?
allso can i please have a welder, a grinder and a miner dummy. And some others like ones that maybe have other tools in the hand.
Need some Technicians, Engineers and Machinists would be so cool.

@Rat I could make separate dummies in other suits, say, a miner dummy wearing a mining skin. But I can't add skins to all dummies.

Can you apply custom suits or anything like the way you can to the player? (aka can you add skins?) I love your mod it is very good for making lively scenes.

Any chance you will make some dummies sitting at the new console blocks? Or at least some offset versions of the sitting dummies with the chair textures removed so we can emulate them sitting at consoles?

Hmm, okay. It gives the option to use text, images, or scripts, so I thought that was the intent for the screen.

@Lt.Fenix It's not supposed to be. The block is just a text panel shaped like an engineer. It relies on the ability to show a text window that only LCD panels have. I'm not sure it can work if there are several screens on an LCD block.

you might want to look into the new Animation engine framework when you get time they seem to have gotten a decent handle on making things move in game

@Spartan-089 Sorry, the mod is very much on the backburner currently because of work and life in general. I'd love to eventually add more stuff to it, though, once I have the time and motivation.

Also don't bother paying, I won't take it anyway, plus I'm in Russia, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Shortstock I know, that's the dream. But afaik it's practically impossible to properly animate complex blocks like engineers with the current SE system. It's fine for more mechanical blocks, like turrets, gyroscopes or landing gear, but too rigid for organics.

I have zero modding expertise but I think it would increase the immersion if you could have animated NCPs. I know that might not be possible but imagine how much life it would add if the NPCs periodically performed random player animations.

noticed the bed NPCs are completely non-airtight, even though the normal bed block is suppose to be airtight on 3 faces (bottom, back, and top) can this be fixed?

It would be nice to be able to add that when you talk to certain dummy NPCs, they give you certain items. This way it could be used as a quest system or something similar.

v.0.6.1 - added conveyor ports to large grid store dummies. They can now be conveyored up from all sides except for the front.

@SiL I intentionally set up the trader dummies without conveyor ports so that you needed to interact with them more often. I can change that, but I currently don't have access to my mod files for the time being, so it'll take some time.

looking to use these in my servers main trading hub. it looks like that the contracts have invisible connectors but the traders do not. is there any way to either add them or am I missing something, id like to enable trade through this mod but need a way to do it without having to sit there and empty the inventory of the model, any suggestions?

@gnafabry I haven't noticed any compatibility issues on my end.

Have you tried loading a world with just my mod to confirm that it's the one causing crashes?

If yes, then maybe the mod files got corrupted when you subscribed to it. Try unsubscribing, deleting all the remaining mod files in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\2289675817, then resubscribing.

@didier07.09.68 Have you subsribed to the mod and added it to your world?

The dummies should appear in the G menu, but there was a bug in SE that prevented the game from showing some blocks if you had too many modded blocks. In case it's that bug again, there is a collection called "AE decoratives" that has all the dummies there, or you can just use search.

@Rümmler.363VD Sadly, no. It's the same problem as with normal armor blocks: you can't paint one side of it, only the full block.

You can, however, paint offset dummies a different color, but that's because they are separate blocks and take up additional cube space (plus they can be a pain to grind down since they don't have collision).
