Example: My Character the king dies and my son inherits my titles but I would like to continue as the brother of the character that died which would make that character the uncle of the heir. Is this possible to get that working ??
Update includes google translate translations.
Many times it happened that I looked at the younger heir and thought that he was more worthy!
Thanks!
Will it be updated after Royal Court?
Haha shut up you. Ideas are easy, making them real is hard. Thanks for the great mod! Makes it so much more enjoyable to follow the fun line with the fun story.
Updated its descriptor file.
In vanilla, you usually see your children beyond the heir as merely alliance opportunities at best. You don't really care about their traits, skills and well-being. In fact you are better off if they are stupid, unpopular and sick because they will give your heir less trouble in the future. But this is not how things work(ed) in real life. The "veil of ignorance" that this mod brings makes you think about ensuring a good upbringing for your kids.
Another thing I like is that you now aren't destined to always play as a powerful ruler (that I usually become within a generation or two after start). The game gets a bit bland after you've reached the top, so I welcome more challenge. It also adds to immersion as you actually feel for that youngest son of a king jealous for his older brothers who all got better lands.
There have been times I'd have preferred to play with another heir and wasn't able to kill off the primary, or I did and created more of a mess than I intended. Now I can do that without the risk of weakening the dynasty.
In regards to the gold, splitting sounds good but the primary should probably get a higher % than say the youngest of six? I guess you could do some estate planning ahead of time and start gifting that heir gold and hope they don't spend it before you die and take over that character?
In either case, I think a nice complement to this mod would be one that splits the treasury among all heirs. It seems goofy that land must be shared, but only the eldest child gets any monetary inheritance.
Thanks for the mod. Have a golden unicorn award.
This would really take the "play as anyone" concept pretty far and make for some interesting playthrough as you explore how easily or difficult you can navigate through life in your realm as different people in it.
Cheers!
