I found the mods on alyx mods idk if they are located anywhere else
text appears when you walk over to it that says this is what is used to play the tapes
but ill update it so its more obvious
thank you for the feedback then !
Overall, you did a great job on atmosphere, and there is some great initial tension in the level, but the progression of the level felt predictable, deflating a lot of the tension. The greatest fun was when the lights would unexpectedly go out (the bathroom scene was great), but consider giving the player the ability to prevent the villian from in the house, and when the villian does get in, that creates the tension when an unstoppable object is moving your way.
5 - The clue you provide as to a hiding space practically spoiled the ending of the level (as I explored the entire house). No matter when I ran into the villian, I knew exactly wher I needed to go to in order to get away. When I got to the final stage (glowing red), and I hid, and then the game ended with myself winning felt very anti-climatic (like getting the answers to a test).
6- It may have been more intersting if you, when being hunted down by the villian, had your way getting blocked by the villian (or the villian psychically throwing things in your way to prevent you/slow you down from running away). Instead, it was a simple run and hide.
4 - Occasionally, I had trouble in how certain objects were gripped, mainly the mini-newspapers laying around. I was holding it in my right hand, and I was (I think) holding my left controller grip (Valve Index) lightly, ans the mini-newspaper 'flew' into my left hand.
POTENTIAL SPOILERs from this part on:
1- For a house that looks to be built back in the 1970s, I couldn't figure out why the light switches never worked, but every room seemed to have automatic light sensors. This works as an effective scare tactic the first couple of times, but then loses its effect. With a few exceptions, everytime I went into a room, I knew the lights were going tocome on whehn I walked into a room.
2 - What tapes went into what machine? I found a numbes of VHS tapes, but no physically compatible machine. Wasn't sure what to do here.
was causing too many problems
but im glad you enjoyed it
this is a complex map so stuff will probably pop up
i havent personally experienced any of them
