Just an idea, but how about a loading progress bar instead? I always thought the game could use one so you know how far are you from loading in.

As for the positioning of the timer, it's kind of not aligned with the rotating SB icon on the lower right. Could be a little bit lower and on the leftmost side.

Is this compatible with mods that change the intro?

With the game on an SSD, it only takes like 12s to load.
