how can I verify if the shield is correctly giving the wearer low cover?

I have to ask: does this rework make it so when you get the low profile perk? All low cover from shield-bearers turns into high cover?

{ Low Profile Perk in an nutshell:

Low cover for this unit is treated as high cover. }

Or does it not convert the low cover into high cover for adjacent allies?

Edit: nvm Amalgamation: Vengeance touch shields and have SHIELD_MOBILITY_PENALTY=2 in it,which seem to be what give all shield users +2 when equipping a shield

Sounds great in theory but break so many perk mods that most of them cant use any abilities requiring shield wall

the easiest way is just to look at the description of the shield wall ability if it says anything other than "Hunker down behind your shield. Increases Defence by 30, Dodge by 50, and provides high cover to allies." then it's not working

idk what mods doing this, but my spark doesnt get any passive low cover, like when im getting shot i see enemy hit chances is like im in no cover at all, and should it sometimes reflect shots like templar? and spark allways gives high cover to tmates...

I like changes from this mod, except for the removal of shield points. I would like to add some of them back (maybe 2/6/10 instead of 6/10/14).

Should I edit XcomShields.ini or Compatibility/XcomShields.ini? Would line "+SHIELD_POINTS_CV=2" be fine?

It works fine, at least for me. I am using the Hoplite class in LWOTC with shields reworked.

Larsen, because the templates aren't the same name. LWotC's versions are TemplarBallisticShield_CV, TemplarBallisticShield_MG, TemplarBallisticShield_BM.

This MOD is an interesting other way to do it. (I just adjust some element to my convenience) ;)

Nerfed dodge (for aggro)

Tier:
Armor 1/2/2 (no change)
Shield 0/0/5*

*elerium technologie give some ablative points (same amont than the ADVENT shield but individual)

So far I applied the Mechanic to Custodians and Frost Legion shield droids for the trade off of defence, doesn't make sense that larger targets are harder to hit and act as soak Tanks.

I find that Armour and Dodge to be a more intuitive play style then temporary ablative shield points, Amour because shield wall and dodge for deflecting damage then flat out temporary absorption, appreciated.

Good catch! Turns out it's just a markup issue: your changes will have been working in tactical but not displaying in the armoury. I've just uploaded a patch which should correct that.

I am experiencing what seems to be a bug, I have for the improvement of Spark Shield use, doubled it's Armour/Dodge stats compared to organics, but when I check it in the character stats it's the same as soldiers.

It's a separate ability with the same name.
In this mod I rename it entirely to Hunker Down (Shield) to clear up that confusion.

Please change the encoding in Russian localization to UTF 16 LE with BOM. In UTF 8 encoding with BOM, it does not stand up and the text turns into hieroglyphs.

Tweaking the damage on the shields is very straightforward, but the disorient isn't from this mod: that's a thing shields are supposed to have in the base mod. If those shields don't have it, they still won't have it even if I reduce their damage.

If you're only after cosmetic options, have you considered using the XSkin mod?

Okay did some extensive testing, it's mostly a readability issue, except for Shield Bash.
There's no shield points, the armour and dodge upgrades are there (Though it doesn't tell you that on the Avenger, in mission they do work as supposed to).

Only thing that seems to not work the way it's supposed to is Shield Bash
for any shield other than the Ballistic Shield, it's doing 3-4 damage on Conventional Tier and doesn't ever cause Disoriented on hit

I'll go in and check, might be just a readability issue in the armory menu within the Avenger, in game it seems to work like yours but I'll confirm.

I've only got Conventional tier in my current playthrough but it should be more than enough to find out

Absolutely love the stats these shields give!

Long shot to potentially ask you, but is there a possibility of this mod being made compatible with other armoury mods that added their own ballistic shields? They're currently still using the original ballistic shields stats and I'd like to be able to choose more than one look for the reworked Ballistic Shields.

To save some hassle, these are the IDs and links of each one that I've got so far and they seem to be named the same way, with _CV, _MG and _BM for the tiers:

Shield Bash already disorients on hit. Its damage can be tweaked in WotC Ballistic Shields' ini files.

I´d like to change Shield Bash to disorient on hit and reduce the damage to 1-3, but I don´t want to integrate the other features like changes to cover, armor and dodge. How can I do that?
