Nothing wrong with the map the way it is but the fires not burning stuff feels strange janitor see fire n tries to burn stuff as a natural instinct
1st thing I did as soon as map loaded for the 1st time was go cool fires went for the nearest body n put it in the nearest fire before I tried mopping em out:)
Swap flare mesh for that Minecraft lever mesh and swap flare fire for fire n change the ignite sound to incinerator roar and the loop sound to incinerator idle
Change the light colour
Make the burn juration last for hours/a year if use torch ya can't pickup on wall
Health=999999999999999999999999=invincible vs welder/TNT
Disable spent flare and not count as mess same way I disabled the core sample teleporter inside the incinerator in no mercy from being incinerated or moved by anything that touch it
Voilla Minecraft fire torches:)
Light em with a flare TNT or shoot em with the welder in a dark map
Have a normal one as normal flare mod so janitor can walk around with a real Minecraft fire torch?
That's if you make a dark map it be a nice feature
Swap the sounds the mesh and the position of the fire particles if have to
Put factory in the map n light a fire torch if you touch the fire with it or just light with left mouse

Not good in a bsp brush map fire go outside map but fine with meshes
Nice feature if you do make fire burn stuff it teaches janitor not to burn stuff in fire and n mop it out instead:)

When you mop the fire out it simply delete the physics volume with a destroy node
Should work well with your existing script if you do make fire burn stuff n it lets you light flares n TNT Molotov etc off fire too
In VCD beta it would let you say reskin the default tools n make a new shovel or welder etc

It cooked now editor self destruct if you try n reskin default tools
Vcd 2 if Devs don't port this game meshes if Devs say yes then we can port our maps into VCD 2 so yeah hope it's a sequel with all new maps:)

1 problem it won't let you pick em up
Export rocks from upk bug import rocks n use auto convex collision 7 max next one max last one 39 as 40 crashes editor. Assign digsite material to your new untextured rocks=turn it into debris via concrete toilet or filing cabinet sub archetypes=no office notes
Cool now you can pickup the rocks:)
Copy it's upk file rename it fully load it and save it=voilla editor let you use create a copy on everything in said upk file (umodel for modding a texture)and export the sound wav delete the saved upk it self destruct and crash the engine so don't load n save the original upk

2 awww I love rat sounds that makes your skin crawl just like when the cat brings a mouse home n ya hear it being eaten (sideshow Bob steps on a rake sound)

4 too easy using the existing script n just add incinerator roar sound and modify health or melt on debris node.
Optional but the 1st thing I did was put a body on top of spikes on fire=lol

6 door sounds were the 1st thing I did but next I replaced all vc movers with interpactors (vcdmover and vcinterpactor sux hitboxes are horrible) default interpactors don't glitch out or kill you
Fodder did good with vcdmover although I don't use em so all good fodder copy is a really good map

4)Given the script already in place for the extinguishing/saving of fire and it's sounds, that'd be lot of effort for something most likely never used. The idea is nice, but I can see them being mopped away before anyone even thinking to try burning stuff on them.
5) yep just gotta re-position them to not spawn under the floor
6)Bloody knew I'd forget that, didn't even notice. Will source my own though to keep the no DLC requirement.
Will keep working on it, post-holiday season and all that.
1. Fire comes back when loading a save and can't be removed once the save is reloaded.
2. Mice eating sound is a good start but I would choose a different file, every time it played that loud crunch got under my skin and wasn't pleasant to listen to. Should be a more muffled and less sharp sound, reverb would also help since it's at the bottom of the pit.
3. Missing faces are still an issue on the back of the targets but I know you did mention it before.
4. AJ mentioned making the fire burn objects and I think that's a great feature if you can allow that and allow them to be extinguished.
5. Particles for the eating but again, you said you were working on it so that's good.
6. Doors need some sounds, could re-use the sounds from the Halloween map that creak.
Map is fun, with those above I really can't think of a better way to make it perfect.
While tinkering with my copy I had a few issues with weapon props vs stuck detection and dinner plates deleting themselves on map load especially if drop a body on top of em.
Arrows and plates mostly
Maybe untick the stuck detection for those 2
I have custom stuff in my UDK file so I don't have to touch your upk files especially if you update the upk files it won't crash my copy!
Just incase anyone else says props are deleting themselves flickering out of existence etc
@The Renegadist, will check out new sounds, there's a couple of missing faces on those targets, not my models but I can try and cap them off. Still working on it, like adding the dust n stuff

Either way two very different and interesting maps will come out of this map n I gonna take advantage of ye Olde sense of humour vs ye Olde map vs characters story just going to be quite some time before one will see ye Olde parody of this map
Canonfodder is welcome to have that chewing sound or anything else except for a portal gun until the portal map is up then anyone can use the gun after that:)
Also the backs of the targets DO have missing faces on the outer ring of the backside, not on the wood itself but the piece behind that.
So far so good I reduced its radius to walking 10 steps away from it.
To silence or change the punchout machine ambient sound and to be able to choose a new lid for a custom trunk would be nice to see on blackeagle's fix it list?
Managed to make a new trunk
So far it's pretty cool n still has the vanilla feel as new stuff not so crazy and fits the medievil theme
Sepia tone bin and bucket dispensers look good in an ancient level to help olden VCD's modern technology
Anyway gonna refrain from putting it on workshop will give full credit to ya contributor etc but I must get the portal map up 1st so want plenty of time for players of this one to enjoy it/rate it up n press that favourite button!!!

Might see about adding a witches wand as new rooks keep staff weapon/works like a Taser combined with Stargate staff weapon n all the swords work too...cling clang shhhwing goes player 1 2 6 n 9 having a sword fight in multiplayer just try not to cut yourself with a sword?
A parody is worth it with this one but mix medievil with fantasy n combine that with dungeons and dragons theme with a touch of Rooks keep
Will wait until I get that portal map happening then put up a parody. Motivation to start building something from scratch
