I need to revisit this script, as it's probably not very well thought out or good.
Turrets are better for this type of stuff (as far as I know), and there is other scripts that also have graphics.

That is really small, and how the system works is it starts at 45 degrees in yaw and pitch, and loops down, then repeats. The angle may be to high to detect it at the moment. Possibly more camera can pick it up with the current angle it is raycasting.

About 5x5x10 blocks small grid. I hang in 20 meters above and it doesn't worked.

a (camera) raycast must be very precise, how big are the probes?

Sees the planet and the grid of planetary base. Doesn't see grids of probes that need to be searched for by trade stations tasks.

sorry for not answering, with multiple cameras, use the option "scanAllAtOnce" and set it to true

what should i do if it says“cant get scan time with unsynced cameras”,
i have set the correct camera tag

it should, i think the thing i did wrong is the raycast isn't straight, it's at an angle.

I might do a test to see if this can possibly work in a 3D hemisphere. basically by adding a hinge that gives it a 3rd dimension and allows you to see things above you and not directly around you in a 2d field.

I don't actually know the max a camera can raycast or "scan". I think i messed the script up a bit, but there isn't much documentation on how the camera raycast actually works.

And for the radar, just make a rotor with a small grid head
make a post
add a camera or more
add the tags
setup the rotation and stuff
and if you wan't and your server allows it, you can make it scan every few secs so you don't have to wait
(argument: scan)

this sounds cool and very practical if it works. can you add some images of how it looks/works.

I assume the radar is a rotating device with cameras on it? If not, please clarify as there are many non-functional radars on the workshop, and I am not 100% sure what a functional radar system is supposed to look like.

Also, do you know the maximum range that the radar can detect? I know cameras can see much further than turrets, but if this system surpasses 1km, then this can be useful for detecting things outside of turret range and possibly outside of render distance (grids load in at approx 5km in most servers)

im extremely new to SE and i find scripts confusing. maybe a quick video of this one and how to set it up would be great.
