How can I disable don't hunt if blind since all my colonists are blind?

A small issue I ran into with this mod: a Megasloth, which is not a predator but has 50% revenge chance, combined with the "shoot at point blank when sleeping" lead to, well, the obvious outcome of a downed pawn. It would be perfect for the sleeping option to be disallowed on anything with a revenge chance. Is that even feasible? idk, I'm not a modder.

I also have this issue - in the logs, the only entries for this mod are when it's doing its patching for the workgivers. If I remove the mod, the pawns can hunt a raccoon. If I add it back, the raccoon is suddenly given "explodes on death" status.

Not sure what could be causing the conflict; I can try to tinker with mod combos. In the interim, I did want to add my voice to the group, even if I can't make an "official" report since I'm not seeing anything weird in the logs (not that I'd know the best, since I'm not the modmaker, but still).

@Mile. Seems I'm late to the party, but I'm having the same issue. All potential melee hunting targets are flagged as exploding. I'm not sure where this is happening, I'm not great at reading the debug but I don't think there was anything about it; trying to select them as a target also doesn't generate a log.

My one idea is possibly dlc/vanilla conflict of some sort? Wish I could help more : /

@Brumm Bär Well, it does not happen with only this mod and Harmony loaded so not sure what you mean by it being incompatible with harmony.
I have yet to see any actual report of this, either here or on the Discord server.

no matter what you try to hunt you just get a "can´t hunt becouse explodes on death"
so you can´t hunt at all
.....
that is the issue that DraconisG describes and that i talked about in september and about 2 years ago

I am also running into the same problem. I have taken my mod list down to Core, Harmony, and this mod only, and checked all the settings, and I still get the "Cant hunt because animal explodes on death" error, so there is absolutely something broken in this mod.

Did you add in the option to disable the size check like was asked a few messages ago? Trigger happy pawns can't hunt smaller animals with this mod. I have a trigger happy shooting specialist with 17 in shooting and a legendary SMG but he will never hunt any smaller animals I mark for hunting, Only seems to happen with trigger happy, someone without that trait and level 0 shooting can hunt smaller animals no problem.

I was always using Hunting spot mod, but it was super baggy, now I will try this as it sounds good. I only wish you will add group hunting as it is in hunting spot, it will be amazing for medieval/tribal playtrough.

Ah, thanks for the quick response. I never noticed it before. The description doesn't seem to mention anything about that behaviour so I wasn't sure it was intended.

Hey Mlie, I've noticed recently all of a sudden my pawns go to finish off downed animals by standing nearby and shooting them instead of executing-by-cutting like in vanilla. I did a binary search on my mod list and found that it's this mod causing it. I tested with only Core, DLCs, Harmony, Hugslib and this mod loaded to confirm nothing else contributes.

Nothing comes up in the log, so it doesn't appear to be an error, and tweaking the mod settings didn't seem to help. To reproduce: load the game with above mods only, do a quick-start with Hugslib, spawn an animal if needed, use dev mode to damage until downed, mark animal to be hunted, equip a pawn with a gun and set to hunting.

They will approach the downed animal and stand 1-2 tiles away shooting at it until it dies instead of executing-by-cutting. This is less than ideal as the additional damage to the animal reduces meat and leather when butchered.

I have a trigger happy pawn who seems unable to hunt small targets - I assume because it is so unlikely they will ever hit the animal? I want to disable that, allowing them to still hunt even though it is small and unlikely to be efficient.

I think it's because the pawn was so bad at shooting that hunting small targets was inefficient? regardless, I'd like the ability to disable that option.

I'm getting an issue where my pawn won't hunt rabbits - it says "cannot hunt, target size" when i right click

Great, new bug. The hunting restriction involving hunger and fatigue applies to normal pawns, but what about pawns that do not have those mechanics, like those from androids. They throw up errors that prevent them from working.

Disable hunger restriction is the biggest one, as that is plain annoying. Disabling temperatrue restrictions would be nice too.

When I say food is to low, I mean they have less than 40% hunger. That last one is really annoying, I want to stock up on pemmican.

The issue I have is that some of the restrictions cannot be turned off. Starting in a tropical biome for a medieval playthrough means it will often be too hot, and I would rather they not refuse to hunt when food is too low.

Honestly, this mod is far too restrictive. They do not hunt when they are desperate, or they have less than 40% hunger, which is far too limiting. That is why I get rid of it.

Hello Mlie, my colonists kept shooting downed animals instead of finishing them off while hunting. Disabling this mod fixed that for me. Have a good day :spacecheer:

i know Mlie is just the custodian of these old mods would love to see a variant for this specifically for Pigskins, so that they stop trying to hunt at long range (being nearsighted and all)

I'm sorry, I shouldn't expect you to be able to update these mods. And I haven't failed, not yet at least, it just felt weird.
