L4D2 doesn't really allow for that kind of stuff.

What about extra bones for gloves support then? Or not a chance?

That's due to clipping, since the gloves can be removed via a bodygroup. Nothing I can do about that.

That's the unfortunate thing about L4D2 and it's ancient engine. If it ever got ported to Source 2, it would likely mitigate this problem to a degree.

when it happens for other reasons its because of the high poly, ive been told by other mod creators that if you have too many high poly, rng or hd mods your game is prone to random crashes

Typically, the problem is when a model has an extremely high poly-count. If you've ever gotten the Too Many Indices For Index Buffer error, this is likely the result of the blood decals being applied to the model when injured or pounced, though nobody is certain if this is the case or not, since it can seemingly also happen for other reasons.

I'll talk to Despair and see if the blood decals can be disabled to possibly help rectify the problem, but I can't make any promises.

meta that happens when a broken model gets pounced by a hunter or in rare cases shot by friendly fire and has to do with blood textures on the model. based on comments and some notes from despairs other mods this is a consistant problem that they do not know how to fix

I myself seem to be getting some stuttering, but nothing that outright causes crashes. It could be due to a high number of mods I have installed, but I have no real idea, since I can't really test it on it's own at this point in time. The model has a very high index count of over 90K, though I have no idea if that's why it's happening or not.

I think there might be something wrong with this, because my game has frozen almost every time I've used this. And when I say it freezes, I mean I get kicked out of the game to my computer's home screen, and my cursor disappears except on the task bar at the bottom. And even when my game doesn't freeze while using this, I get brief periods of serious lag spikes.
