Definitely needs updating for the new version
spacerus99 18 Jul, 2023 @ 12:15pm
Apparently, this breaks "forced partition" contract option. Vassals keep primogeniture and can switch back to it any time if player changes their laws manually.
grandembassy  [author] 15 Jul, 2023 @ 5:41am
Thanks :D Absolutely agree with you, keeping that sense of progression makes the decision all the more rewarding
phantombandit 14 Jul, 2023 @ 9:02am
I like this. Alot of mods are just you get primogeniture from the start. The point of gavelkind is that it makes you appreciate primogeniture, so it should be something you should have to work for, just not something you get in the last 10 years of your save.

The decision is available to the AI, but it's not quite smart enough to strive for this goal
John2Lionheart 30 Jun, 2023 @ 1:21am
Hi does the AI use this?
Frost 18 Jun, 2023 @ 12:58pm
Thanks a lot, mate!
grandembassy  [author] 18 Jun, 2023 @ 11:39am
Sure. Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\2321741513\common\decisions (you should be able to paste this exact path into File Explorer) and edit primo_major_decisions.txt. Change the trigger in is_valid. For instance, if you want 3 fame rank, change:

prestige_level >= very_high_prestige_level

to

prestige_level >= high_prestige_level
Frost 18 Jun, 2023 @ 9:40am
is there a way I can change the requirements to get primogeniture such as rank 3 fame instead of 4 like editing the mod?
grandembassy  [author] 16 May, 2023 @ 12:51pm
@DAWHIPPA When I enabled it alone, I had checksum bc55. Make sure the mod is in your playset in the CK3 launcher. If you haven't used these before, maybe this will help: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/launcher-feature-highlight-playsets.1500999/
grandembassy  [author] 16 May, 2023 @ 12:49pm
@Tethryss I actually had the same thing happen to me when I was on vanilla! Probably not my mod
DAWHIPPA 16 May, 2023 @ 12:38pm
I dont have the establish Primogeniture option in the decision tree. even though its active on in steam. Check sum 5780. Lance (1.9.0.4) any idea on how to fix this?
Tethryss 16 May, 2023 @ 10:03am
Might possibly be the game in its awful state right now, but they apparently fixed a lot of crash errors and that seems like one really hard for them to have missed.
Tethryss 16 May, 2023 @ 6:26am
Hey man I am sorry to bug you, but could you check and see if it is your mod causing a random crash when you divide and combine your armies during a war?
grandembassy  [author] 14 May, 2023 @ 4:27am
Updated. Let me know if you find any issues!
DAWHIPPA 13 May, 2023 @ 4:51pm
Cant wait for the update. thanks!
Tethryss 13 May, 2023 @ 3:56pm
Hey thats rad, thanks a lot Grandembassy :)
grandembassy  [author] 13 May, 2023 @ 12:45pm
Thanks for asking nicely :) I'll have my mods updated by tomorrow
Tethryss 13 May, 2023 @ 8:43am
I know you said you don't play much, but any shot of just making sure this works for Lance?
LTSpec 2 Jan, 2023 @ 1:41am
Thanks a lot for the mod, i've used your Primogeniture from the start mod but this one feels a lot better because of the challenge.
PhazezGova 28 Dec, 2022 @ 2:05am
Great, thank you for the update :)
grandembassy  [author] 14 Nov, 2022 @ 12:54pm
Sorry bud, I've been really lazy about my CK3 mods lately since I'm just not into the game anymore. You're free to give it a shot though!
Big D OG 13 Nov, 2022 @ 8:59pm
Could you make one compatible to the newly released EK2 mod?
grandembassy  [author] 29 Sep, 2022 @ 6:58pm
Hmm... I'd guess the mod makes its own crown authority rules for those new types of government. I needed to modify the crown authority rules of tribal/feudal/clan to make this mod work. That's probably why the mod doesn't work with governments+.
ErgoQB 29 Sep, 2022 @ 4:20pm
It introduces new governments to the game. And I've tested it, the decision pops up for feudal empires, but none of the new types of rule
grandembassy  [author] 29 Sep, 2022 @ 3:34pm
I don't know too much about other mods in CK3, but that one sounds like it'd overwrite a file that I modified to make this mod work. Probably not compatible, unfortunately.
ErgoQB 29 Sep, 2022 @ 11:05am
Can it be then that the decision is limited to feudal/tribal realms? I'm using government+
grandembassy  [author] 28 Sep, 2022 @ 2:25pm
Able to confirm, the decision does show up for empires. Are you using any other mods that might overwrite the changes this mod makes?
ErgoQB 28 Sep, 2022 @ 1:31pm
Re-checked it; the decision doesn't seem to turn up for empires
ErgoQB 28 Sep, 2022 @ 1:29pm
Is it possible that the mod is not carrying over into an already existing save? Currently playing as the Bengal Empire, and the decision doesn't turn up. I have tested it by loading a new game, and it's right where it's supposed to be
PhazezGova 28 Sep, 2022 @ 3:13am
Great!
grandembassy  [author] 8 Sep, 2022 @ 3:18pm
Updated to 1.7!
grandembassy  [author] 7 Sep, 2022 @ 2:45pm
:) enjoy!
Lord Felix 7 Sep, 2022 @ 6:38am
You sir are a legend.
PhazezGova 5 Aug, 2022 @ 2:12pm
Yes I will give it a try at the weekend, thank you :)
grandembassy  [author] 5 Aug, 2022 @ 10:29am
You can! I think you can go into the mod folder. I forget what the exact file structure is, but you should be able to find the English localization, copy it to make a German one, and replace all the strings that are in there. Hope that helps! :)
PhazezGova 5 Aug, 2022 @ 9:55am
Oh, that's right. Can I perhaps edit it myself :)?
grandembassy  [author] 5 Aug, 2022 @ 6:39am
Guessing you're playing in German? Localization is not properly set up for this mod. Entschuldigung :crying_yeti:
PhazezGova 5 Aug, 2022 @ 12:47am
The mod doesn't quite work for me, it says "enable_primogeniture".
grandembassy  [author] 19 Apr, 2022 @ 9:29am
Got it, I'll take a look at this
Amergin 19 Apr, 2022 @ 1:16am
Won't work for tribals.
grandembassy  [author] 9 Apr, 2022 @ 8:58am
Yes, this decision is available to the AI, but I don't think the AI is competent enough to actually ever be able to seek this decision out. So you might see it as a rarity.
Commodus 9 Apr, 2022 @ 6:46am
Does the AI use this as well?
NotHornt 28 Feb, 2022 @ 10:35am
oh cool. k thanksomuch!
grandembassy  [author] 26 Feb, 2022 @ 8:15am
Yep. Something you can try is dragging a primogeniture mod to the bottom of your playset mod list. This will make the primogeniture mod load after Raider Kings. It'll keep the primogeniture changes to crown authority, but Raider Kings wouldn't be able to make such changes.
NotHornt 25 Feb, 2022 @ 5:15pm
I found it. "Raider Kings" is not compatible with your mods.
NotHornt 25 Feb, 2022 @ 4:37pm
Ye I have all kinds of other mods installed. I uninstalled yours and tried the other one "primo without requirements" and its also doing it to that mod as well. So its gotta be a conflict with something else. I'll start going through them all to rout it out. Thanks.
grandembassy  [author] 25 Feb, 2022 @ 2:28pm
Do you have any other mods installed? Another mod that modifies crown authority won't really work with this mod, because of how Paradox's modding works. If you have two mods modifying the same file, only one's changes will be kept, as both overwrite the file.
NotHornt 25 Feb, 2022 @ 2:10pm
So not sure if anyone else has had this happen to them, but when I click the option for primo it'll switch over then reverts back to original. Can't seem to have it stick. I also tried the other mod "from beginning", but its the same result.
