It's been a while since I've played Civ 5 but I vaguely remember this happening. As I recall, the problem is that if you are conquering cities sometimes the game glitches out and does not record the happiness penalty you are supposed to be getting from occupied cities until you reload. There's no real fix for this, because the reloaded unhappiness is the correct state of things, the glitch was previous where it wasn't properly accounting the unhappiness. The best you can do is watch your unhappiness closely and if it doesn't increase when you occupy a city, immediately reload.
I'm done updating this mod, but if I remember correctly I think I tried making a larger map and couldn't get it to work.
It's a city state. If you want to play Italy, try Earth 2018 or Earth 2020 for Civ 6. Civ 6 allows more civs on the map than Civ 5, which is there are more civs in those mods than in this one.
Sounds like a wild time.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
> Russia and Germany declared war on China and Sweden
> France and Germany declared war on Brazil
> A lot of denounciations
And that was just turn 1 ;-;
If you are comfortable editing code, you can edit the "Earth2014PlayerSetup.lua" file, there are relationship modifiers in there. Make a back-up first, of course.
It's represented by a city-state on the huge maps.
The huge scenario maps are included in the mod. If you are looking for a blank version, it's just Firaxis's earth map on huge size.
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
No, there are no further updates (on my part) to this mod, as I'm done with Civ 5 modding. I've moved on to Civ 6, which I have made a 2020 scenario for.
Sorry for the late reply, but I somehow missed your comment when you made it. To answer your questions:
1. If I remember correctly, simply adding more cities to the city-state(s) in the world builder was all it took.
2. I don't remember, this might be an option in the world builder.
3. Using a script. Check the mod's "Lua" folder for the file "Earth2014CityStateSetup.lua" to see how it's done.
1: How did you get 2 city states to be on the same team? (example: Belgrade-Athens). Is there specific code for this?
2: How did you get each nation to start with a specific ideology?
And 3: How did you give certain city states wonders at the start of the game?
I know these are all a bit random, but bare with me. I was just wondering how these things worked. But thanks for helping!
There is no separate tech tree mod. The tech tree modifications are only for the scenario. There is only a standalone mod for the civs.
I know you’ve announced you’re done with Earth 2014, but I just want to let you know I finally published my Europe 2014 mod. Thanks so much for creating such a wonderful mod with amazing assets that I could use.
I got problem with running this mod.I started as Russia and after first 5-6 turns my game crashes while NPC's turns are processed.I closed Steam overlay (didn't worked) and tried both DirectX 9 and 10/11 (crashing on both), i don't have any other mods running. Any ideas?
Sorry, but I will not be updating this mod further with any new content. As far as mod-making goes, I've moved on to Civ 6.
Depending on how good your processor is and how large of a map you are playing, that may be normal. This is a very processing-intensive scenario, as it has max players, a higher than average number of cities and units, in the modern age (the laggiest era), and if you are playing the largest map you are really stretching things, so this does require either high processing or high patience to play. It is normal for it to take 30-60 seconds for the AI to play on the huge maps, and the first few turns can take longer as they calculate more info.
I've moved on from modding Civ5, so this mod will receive no further updates unless some game-breaking bug is discovered that needs patching. So any mistakes I have made will be preserved for posterity.
Alright, good to know. I've been steadily at work on the mod after returning from a trip to Europe, and I'm expecting to be done with everything in about a week - all I have to do is finish a new Islamism policy tree (to replace Order) and complete the Lua stuff. All the new Civs and their uniques are already done as well. I'll inform you once I'm finished.
