Pneumo 23 Dec, 2018 @ 2:12pm
you should also give them double oil, kind of like what Russia has with iron, uranium, and horses

As a Texan, I 100% approve
Soapforger 10 Mar, 2018 @ 12:45pm
does this support YnAEMP?
ASerg 6 Mar, 2018 @ 7:24pm
That is the most radical leader portrait i've seen
j2deedee 3 Mar, 2018 @ 1:47pm
Does this work with yaemp?

Norton 21 Nov, 2017 @ 11:17am
WOAH the new art looks incredible! It was great before but wow.
CarlmanZ 21 Nov, 2017 @ 7:31am
While it looks great, it doesn't work for me. I think it's a problem on my end, though. Most custom civs don't work with the exception of Canada, Vietnam, Finland, and some others.
Samles 29 Sep, 2017 @ 2:15pm
excited to see this

Very nice mod, I only recently picked up Civ 5 over Christmas. My only complaint is how the Rangers could not be upgraded to tanks.

@Mr.GoldenGlasses Alamo is all anyone thinks of for Texas. "Come and Take It", is from the battle of Gonzales, which I feel deserves some recognition. Props to the creator of the mod.
BigMeat 9 Aug, 2016 @ 7:06pm
unique ability should have been called remember the alamo
ItsMoose 3 Aug, 2016 @ 5:46pm

Norton 25 Jun, 2016 @ 8:07am
Due to the British vote to leave the EU, redneck hicks want to make Texas a country again.
Duck 23 May, 2016 @ 2:56pm
I love the mod though thank you.
Duck 23 May, 2016 @ 2:55pm
The little circle where it shows your emblem, the star is shifted to the side. Also the colors look a lot like the colors of Germany.
Pete 18 May, 2016 @ 2:14pm
could you make it compatible with ethnic units

I like this mod, but would you consider adding support for Civ IV traits in Civ V?

Either way, thank you for making this.
Mina3 8 Aug, 2015 @ 12:52am
Laredo's misspelled. Other than that I love this mod and use it all the time.
Kramer  [author] 19 Jun, 2015 @ 5:21pm
It's the Half Life 3 of mod updates. It's ALMOST done but 1. the Events and Decisions support still has some bugs and 2. I'm very lazy and unmotivated to do anything these days.

HOWEVER, for those of you who are fucking sick of waiting and don't give a shit about E&D, here's a manual download to v3: {LINK REMOVED}
scrooge_mcduke 19 Jun, 2015 @ 5:08pm
I love the Texas civ but is this mod gonna get updated?
Major Cat 14 May, 2015 @ 11:04am
Good to know, here's hoping they're more enjoyable than Washington's USA despite this being the independent state of Texas. I've been looking for a mod like this for a while.
Kramer  [author] 14 May, 2015 @ 11:01am
Yeah, this mod is due for an update within the week (for real this time). In addition to a bunch of updated art, fixed bugs/typos, and mod support, the Ranger will get a bit of a boost and the UB will also give +1 Production and +1 Culture on Bison. Nothing too overwhelmingly OP, but enough to make them more desirable replacements. The UA will remain the same, though.
Major Cat 14 May, 2015 @ 10:50am
The current abilities of this civ seem sub-par, so I cannot bring myself to such a disadvantage compared to any of the vanilla/DLC civs. Which, are relatively OP in actual comparison. Just look at the Arabs.
However, if you're willing to give Texas a buff that allows them to compete in the long run, I'd be more than happy to install this.
valerian68 18 Apr, 2015 @ 4:30pm
ynaemp support would be great!
Faysal 19 Feb, 2015 @ 5:09pm

God bless Texas! Awesome mod by the way.
Wins Day 17 Dec, 2014 @ 8:54am
Hi! As a native Texan, I absolutely love this mod! However, I do have one thing I would like to point out: One of the default city names is "Loredo" when it's actually spelled "Laredo". It's a really minor thing, but that's one thing that stuck out to me, haha.
Kramer  [author] 21 Oct, 2014 @ 11:36pm
I was actually contemplating that quite a bit. We'll see how the mod tools for BE work, and if possible, I'll try to do a futuristic Texas for it. "SpaceTex", I'm thinking.
Maximum Broly! 21 Oct, 2014 @ 10:26pm
Any Chance of doing a "New Texas" Civ for Beyond Earth?
EleventhTry 26 Sep, 2014 @ 8:42pm
I have a suggestion! Can you add this in the normal game? I can't aford BNW or GK.
Kramer  [author] 13 Sep, 2014 @ 10:47am
Thanks for pointing out the Laredo typo; I've fixed it in the unreleased V3 update which will also overhaul the art, among other things. And I'd already set the Ranger to upgrade into a Landship, but I couldn't figure out what the problem was until just now. I set it to upgrade into UNITCLASS_WW1_TANK, while the Landship's class is UNITCLASS_WWI_TANK. If you want to edit the mod's Units .xml, you can fix that yourself right now, if you don't want to wait for V3. Thanks for the critique/bug reports!
TX Guerrilla 13 Sep, 2014 @ 5:26am
Awesome work Kramer, this mod is my favorite. If you could find some time to add in a couple of fixes, it would be perfect.

1) Rangers won't upgrade into modern units... It's a little painful to spend a ton of resources building up an army centered around the Texas unique unit, only to be forced to delete all of them (along with their hard-won promotions) when reaching a new era. I understand that rangers never started using landships, but at least allow them to become some form of infantry.

2) Please fix the city name spelling of "Loredo" to "Laredo".

Again, awesome job overall. I sincerely hope to see more of your work in the future!
PaperEar34 9 Sep, 2014 @ 4:00pm
Dang I was in the process of making this. Oh well congrats yours is probably better than mine will ever be. Thanks for representing the Lone Star Empire!
Primus Inter Pares 17 Jul, 2014 @ 5:38am
Thanks Kramer, I misunderstood the description. It is still a great mod! Thanks for your hard work!
Kramer  [author] 16 Jul, 2014 @ 2:44pm
There's no Texas map type included with this mod, sorry to say.
Primus Inter Pares 16 Jul, 2014 @ 1:43pm
So I got Sam Houston to show up in game setup but I do not see any map or map type for texas? Do I just leave this option as default map?
tdubya 11 Jul, 2014 @ 7:38am
fantastic, thanks
Foohsha 1 Jul, 2014 @ 12:31pm
Loved this Mod, however the Rangers were unable to upgrade into landships, like regular calvary does

Yuss. I was looking for this!

Mr. X 21 May, 2014 @ 3:11pm
Absolutely! I'm very interested to see how they turn out. I've been using a placeholder for the CSA when working with my scenario and it's colors are a bit too similar to your Texas, which I've also been using. I'm excited to see what you do with it!
Kramer  [author] 21 May, 2014 @ 8:35am
Of course, engarde, feel free too! Just keep in mind I'm also working on Confederacy and Californian civs of my own, so if you want to use either of those when they come out, it's fine by me.
Mr. X 21 May, 2014 @ 8:03am
I've been working on some very similar mods (Confederacy, California, Cascadia etc), and I have to say I really like what you did with this civ! I'm currently trying to put together a 19th century America scenario, and would like to include your Texas mod if you don't mind! I love the artwork!
Telvannizer 20 May, 2014 @ 4:47pm
TSL? WTF is that?
