@TreeSlayer your right to assume that it doesn't have too much of a purpose, as when creating the M78 i had the idea of it adding to the lore of the map, an interesting feature, however depending on how and where you build, and which resources you extract, it can be used as a mode of transport, however of course it would be much more efficient to use a train. In conclusion id say that it depends on what you do with the map that effects its actual practical use, otherwise its simply for context/lore and serves more as something to fill an empty area of the map.

Does the M78 actually serve a ingame purpose? Because i cant think of a reason to connect the east and west outposts. Does that give me anything in return? Maybe im missing a game feature here

@cmcmahon92 i feel you there, i too have kinda struggled to get back into the game, i haven't had the motivation to continue making maps either :/ but i'm glad that this map motivated you though! i am humbled! :steamdance:

@Reanimator, you know i've never tried to restore bridges that have been built in the way i built them on the map, so if you couldn't do it then i'm guessing its not possible? and also to answer your question on the airfield, no its simply to add some character to the area, and to add to the context of the map with it being closed, it doesn't serve a purpose. as you can tell i even made the runways out of taxi-ways, just so it look more like an older small airfield rather then a fresh new airport. but anyways, it seems like you've really enjoyed playing on the map, and that's all i could ask for! so thx for playing on it! :luv:, also i love that you stuck to the context and added some RP into your game, i really like it! and on a final note, not sure when the next map will be, but of course if your followed you should hear about it when i release it, so keep an eye out i guess, thx again and thx for giving the map some love! much appreciated!

few quick Q's btw, is there a way to restore the bridges to NATO somehow? I couldn't continue building the existing ones s oI had to delete em and start new ones

Does the Airfiled at M78 customs serve any purpose? It's over the map bounds so I never tried messing with it but just checking why you added it and if there is a way to use it?

Started pushing inland towards Sajasno only after 1963, where I set up a huge coal/iron biz and a central resource hub from where I then pushed onwards to all the other corners

sadly, this was my first real playthrough after vanilla map and I made too many logistical mistakes so I'll move on for now but will defo try the low resource version the next time

10/10 map tho for me personally, a perfect blend of rolling hills, flatlands, water and huge mountains

Small challenges offered by author that you can take on or ignore, like the huge bridges going over to NATO

Perfect amount of existing villages that don't force you to play in a specific location/way but totally up to you

Warstalensk is a tad too flat/watery for my taste but it has a similiar vibe to this

Can't wait for your next release

man I had so much fun playing this map, I roleplayed a task force coming in and modernising the county

loved the half finished roads from M78, the bridge project was awesome, I had a small con team working on those bridges to NATO for like 5-6 years so I could start rolling in western tourists by like 1970

rossokhov city was turned into a metropolis but I respected and preserved alot of original layout/roads

The highway from M78 customs into Rossokhov was just beautiful and perfect for all the tech and distrib depots

Loved the challenge of getting to those oil fields across the water, literally had to take a loan to afford a ship so I could bank roll extra oil to my refinery

@Reanimator haha, thx for the praise, i've had a new map in the making about a month ago but it didn't come together well and so i decided to just leave it, i have been thinking about another map though, and this time using a mixture of height mapping and hand-made features, so that it doesn't take me over a week to landscape... also to achieve a possibly more realistic look, as hand made maps tend to have flat left-over areas with not much going on, which is the case with Warstalensk in some areas, although i'm very pleased with how Rossokhov came out.
Reanimator 16 Feb, 2021 @ 5:35am
dammit, i've played this one for the longest time, not sure what to play next, all other maps seem weak
