Looks like this might once again be needed for Royal Court. I know it's still pretty early to declare that, but until now, it worked despite not technically being supported,

Please just start your own mod, Markellus seems veeeery unstable. No harm intended, but also, after so much time gone and still MaA is Space Marine OP and Byz becomes like a U.S.A realm -a little infighting but by far the strongest realm in the world.

it seems the no duchy limit mod does not work well unless maybe loading order is reversed or so(I also used daddy pikas cheat menu because I like being a god XD

@AVRELIANVS "usually" enough said for me honestly. I prefer continued support. Also, do you think the Propaganda and Espionage mod is better than the Espionage DLC Paradox is releasing soon? Unlikely. Paradox has the resources to do mechanics significantly better than modders.

Him and I have come to an understanding and I've been added as a collaborator and will continue to help work on the mod. He also created a public discord to organize things better.

@MrFunEGUY Do you know that somewhat estabilished mods usually get updated and re-developed by a different author, right? Also, we are trading the updatability (which I just argued the community itself deals with, sometimes not even needed) for a less developed, immersive and fewer content and monetized version, which is imo a much bigger problem. To me it kinda doesn't sound like a good deal in most cases. Paradox is good for making mechanics, but the modding community is better at making content

Steal it ? The ideas from this mod come from historical account of the byzantine government form so I guess the mod author stole it from them as well if you want to look at it like that.

If CK3 had the levy and legions system like Imperator, feudal kingdoms could have levies plus a royal army(MaA), while the Byzantines could have full legions, but not op. So that it costs more money, is much harder to replenish, is a limited amount of legions(restricted to 1 per regions for example) and that they are balanced so that while fewer, they punch above their weight, but if you a legion gets stack wiped, then its a massive blow to the empire, costing big amounts of gold to rebuild, experience gone, slow replenishment etc, setting your empire back a lot.

Also with a loyalty system to characters, except the capitol army which is loyal to the emperor always.

For those that want the Feudal Elective law, it's in the "01_title_succession_laws.txt" under the mod folder called "2331933105\common\laws" in the steam workshop folder. Under "#Default Feudal Elective", you can delete the line "has_government = RHOMAIOI_imperial_government". Since the text file contains two "has_government" lines, the law becomes invalid, as you would require two forms of government to use the law, which is impossible.

I have suggestion on how you could fix the last issue you mentioned; maybe you could give player ability to choose "Imperial Autocracy Start" "trait" (that is later removed), in ruler designer, and use it as check for on_action that will give you this gov.

Can you add Roman Army Restoration Innovation into Roman culture? or something like that. Eliminate levi and boost man-at-arm to professionalize military forces. An empire with Roman culture, Roman religion, and armies of the ancient Roman empire.

I play this mod with DmD beta and atm all of the AI Byzantine themes and the emperor himself are subject to confederate partition succession law and weren't allowed to change to anything else. It wasn't like this before the update, even when I was playing with dozens of other mods.

Received a bunch of requests to remove the localisations, so I decided to revert it back. I tend to use mods that change titles to their localized names, understood why people thought having 1 empire be localized was strange.

Yeah, the Komnenian Restoration is essentially more of a nerf if anything to the byz, they should lose a large large large portion of the levies but instead get access to strong MAA for smaller numbers. Might change stuff around with that

I would suggest adding some mechanics or penalties to make the game harder as byzantines , because i just get dummy rich with a ultra professional army 30 years into the game and its just not intresting anymore

Yeah I would like Empire of the Romans more than having actual Greek name.. The rest of the game uses English names, so its weird having the Greek original name.

Other than that, great mod, just I wish arabs and turks would attack more relentlessly, and that Byz MaA isnt too OP after komnenian restoration.

@earstel If you get the 'more game rules' mod you can disable vassal's ability to have external wars, that solved them spreading like crazy up the black sea cost for me. Additionally, get the seljuk invasion mod and put AI aggressiveness to very high and the muslims really become a problem.

Thank you for maintaining and improving this mod, I love it!

A question: would there be a way to limit the expansion of AI Byzantium? In my current game, for example, vassals have expanded around and north of the Black Sea, which is easy for them as their enemies are isolated, but doesn't make much sense as, while expanding north, they ignore their long-term rivals (such as the Arabs). I don't know if it is achievable in the scope of a mod.

And, it's absolutely not a bug (I even fixed it myself), but the "Byzantine" Empire was called Basileía tōn Rhōmaiōn (Βασιλεία τῶν Ῥωμαίων = Empire of THE Romans), as the definite article is mandatory in Greek (be it Ancient, Medieval or Modern).

also, whats the succession all about? Why are kingdoms created when I die? After 2 generations, my kingdom was in ruins...
