you can use the model manipulator to put the model on the vortigaunt tho :D

@Vegas Half Life: Renaisance [Sorry, forgot how to spell that] has Hl1 NPC weapons, so does the Reconstructed edition which has more stuff overall and has less glitches.

Do the skins replace the skins of the NPCs? That would be good because for some reason my Vortigaunts turn pink.

They are hexes, same models, but different names and textures. The reskin for Black Mesa is on the credits.
