how do i override what an npc spawns? i wish to use a vj npcs for citizen gang police etc, but it still spawns default npcs

i love this mod spent alot of time using it and stuff but i thought if maybe it would be possible to add some kind of setting to make the police act more like combine from hl2 i think that would be a really cool for hl2 rp or something like that, but it is still a awsome mod

This does not happen if you just use the dv ai without bkgnpcs, it's not as immersive but it gurantees different vehicles each time

Either It's dependent on the map you are playing, smaller maps likely default to a vehicle that can barely drive safely or there is a new compatibility issue with bkgnpcs & dv preventing them from appearing in different vehicles

When using the DV addon, the cars that spawn in are only using 1 car, I don't know if I'm missing a setting or something, and I can't really find anything online so any help would be great

Ensure that whatever types you want to spawn CAN spawn, you can't just change the top variable you also need to change the slide variable of each background npc class to something higher than 1. Check their spawn radiuses too

Then do nav_save, or you'll have to do this every single time. I do not recommend doing this on very big maps without navmeshes, it can take hours.

If that's the case, you'll want to use the dev console with sv_cheats enabled. Make a navmesh automatically using nav_generate, it's going to lag a fucking lot on lower end pcs.

I had issues with that also, the best options are use HE & modify the map yourself with a navmesh or use Easy Navmesh Editor

I followed the tutorial but the point editor doesn't work and even though I already traced a path, the NPCs mostly move where they want.

I don't understand where your problems are coming from. Most high-load methods are executed asynchronously between frames, not once per frame. Disable automatic mesh generation in the settings, maybe that will help.

The addon lags so much that everything works fine for me with 200 NPCs.

this is great but the issue is my ryzen 7 PC which hates this mod for some reason. Even turning settings to low doesnt help. Any ideas what could be the issue?

My issue that I posted about earlier seems to have gone away, no idea why. It might've been another addon that was causing it as when I disabled this addon spawed NPCs were still flying around

Jerru Make sure they're allowed to spawn in & enable the types you want to be able to spawn, I advise you play on a map that has a navmesh & node graph, if this isn't solving it you will need to investigate it yourself
