honestly, great work!!
In their latest hotfix they declared:
"We have just released a patch to fix issues in the latest update. Notably, character resetting between multiplayer campaign rounds and issues with job assignment have been addressed."
The mod does exactly what it needs to. However, sometimes there is circumstance, when you are selecting a role, (usually at the very beginning of the Campaign/New Campaign) and one or two players are getting different roles instead of the desired one. We met with this phenomenon few times, but we were able to solve this issue by creating a new character while we are in-game on the submarine. (Tab/Human figure icon/Select the role that you want again/Create new) [This will go live when you start a mission or docking into an outpost]
Unfortunately, I have no power beyond that, there is nothing that I could tweak in this mod regarding the random role selection. As I mentioned, the chances are low, but if you would get it, the solution is above.
