hello OP, I tried to change ability from paramedic to closecombatspecialst for this inside xcomclassdata ,

I replace everything inside paramedic bracket with AbilityName="CloseCombatSpecialist", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon

when I reload previous unmoded save, no skill has been changed, which step did I do wrong...really love your mod, but hoplite really need some offensive power(passive offensive)

how i can get shield mk2 for hoplite like witch research i have to do beacose im kinda far in the game and still dont have that in research and nowhere able to build it

The shield does not give the soldier extra armor or shielding points? I have subscribe to all the modes required to run it. Can someone help?

@quackercon I know its been a while, but in case someone has the same problem you have to use the new version of primary secondary instead of the old one

Has anyone encountered a problem with this class specifically having -2 mobility on their shield when they shouldn't have? My one hoplite suddenly started having this penalty after getting past corporal and using the console to fix it is only temporary.

That should be possible by editing this mod's XComClassData.ini (in the workshop folder steam/steamapps/workshop/content/268500/2349597508/config). Under the headline [XComGame.X2SoldierClass_DefaultClasses] right at the top, where you see +SoldierClasses="LWS_Hoplite" add this line: -SoldierClasses="Stormrider"

@hottt3 guard reduce the stage of attack.. this mean if is a crit become a hit, if a hit become a grace and is a grace become a miss

I would really love to be able to have a ballistic shield class that *doesn't* requires the Shadow Ops pack. It's such a dang hassle to disable all their silly classes and turn the LWOTC default 8 back on.

Change log is missing that Bare Knuckle (+2 to +6 melee damage scaling based on rank) is replaced by Bloody Knuckle (flat +3 melee damage) at LCPL as a further nerf to class unless the updated google.doc is incorrect and it is still Bare Knuckle.

I would suggest replacing the icons for En Garde and Shield Trauma. They are similar to ranger/shinobi skills.

This conclusion was made on the basis of the screen in the workshop.

For some reason I can't upgrade the pistol the hoplite is wielding. Any idea why? They're just stuck with the default one.

It is not the same shield, at least with Mod Jam they have different stats and perks. As for the Stormrider: The class can be disabled by editing that Mod's XComClassData.ini. Mod Jam already does this.

Wait.....doesn't LWOTC already have these very same balistic shields for Templars as in the required mod? Also, I don't actualy want the Stormrider class, I assume that there is a way to disable it with this mod still beign able to get what it needs from it?

All of Kiruka's base soldier classes are available as random promotions. Not available are Mech troopers and playable aliens, as well as faction classes and Sparks. Keep in mind that Wardens and Stormriders are available for random promotions ONLY - that means you will not be able to train them in the GTS.

Just installed most of the modpacks from Kiruka. Are most/all of the modded classes in the random pool or when you promote a rookie? or Do you need a specialized building to get them?

Shadow Ops is only needed as a perk pack. If you know your way around config editing you can replace all Shadow Ops perks with others and skip that mod.

so is it normal , that the "parry" doesn't proc if the hit is a graze ? it consumes the parry charge but get grazed instead of actually parrying

Thanks for this mod mate. For the first time I find a "tank" class really useful in XCOM. Also, while I'm here thanks for the other LWOTC classes you created. They complement the game really well without being too OP. Love it!

Seems to interact with "WOTC Xcom Scamper", in that the free scamper move allows an extra Guard action (you get the free one from double-move actions, and an extra one during the scamper turn). Not sure it's actually a bad thing though.

You guy have to build/use the "Alloy" Shield, not the Mk2 of Templar.

Same problem as Nuke and Kvothe2635, I've already build the ballistic shield Mk 2 and can't equip in the Hoplite class, but I can do it in the Templar class.

i wasnt sure if this class will be usefull with only a pistole but after the first mission I am in love. how does "Guard" actually work? i used it once and my guy parried a 100% Sword slice.

Same problem as Nuke, I've already build the ballistic shield Mk 2 and can't equip in the Hoplite class, but I can do it in the Templar class.

Higher tier shields aren't appearing as build options after researching armor tech. Templar shields are popping after research is complete though. All mod dependencies and Lago's Shield Rework are loaded.

I am having trouble editing the Configs to the LW2 perks since I don't use LWOTC but whenever I edit the perk in it doesn't show up is there something you need to do besides editing the name in " " in classdata?

@John Conna Sorry for late response. The classic ability tree is back, with only minor adjustments (Magnum instead of Return Fire in pistol row, Impact Compensation instead of Indomitable at MSGT). Make sure you respec any of your existing Hoplites in your campaign to benefit from this change.

This was made possible due to LWOTC Templars now using an entire separate weapon category for their own shields.

Hi Kiruka, could you release a download with the old ability tree prior to the May 4th update?

AML automatically updated this mod for me, and now new hoplites in my campaign are using this new tree. I don't want to have soldiers with two separate trees for the same class, and I don't want to rebuild my old soldiers classes (I've spent ability points from the pool on their abilities, and I've chosen their equipment/PCS/stats based on the old tree). Plus, I just generally prefer the old ability tree, and I'm also not sure if updating to LWOTC build 26 will break my current campaign.

I'm not able to find a way to revert to a previous version in AML or on the steam page, if anyone could point me to a way to do that that would work for me as well.

@heady look like it has to do with the new LWOTC shield they use. All shield classes will have their primary weapon sheathed/holstered if they have a shield equipped. The original shield mod would force any equipped weapon to the characters hand, which is why templar shard gauntlets were out of place.

haven't figured a workaround yet.

Been doing some testing with this class, TPS, LWOTC 26, and using the ballistic shield mod as that used to be a requirement.

Now having the ballastic shield mod, LWOTC 26, will create a glitch with templars having a missing forearm. removing the shield mod will correct, but will put have it so hopilites primary pistol will always be holstered. Firing animations would then take place from the hip. Still workshopping but has anyone encountered this?

@Kiruka: That fixed the problem. There were entries for half the pistol abilities, so I added the other ones and they work now.
They worked for the Akimbo because of the left hand pistol, I guess?

@m.r.g.b.138 My best guess is that Clutch Shot might need an entry in Ability To Slot Reassignment, like Lightning Hands and friends have, linking it to the Pistols group.
